Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Meyer.
Hi Mark, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Mark Meyer I grew up in South Africa, Cape Town. I moved to Miami in 1998. I went to Miami Edison Sr. High were I graduated from. I continued my education and got my master’s degree and felt that it was not enough for me. I wanted to impact society in a positive way. I started my own nonprofit organization 501(c) 3 Me’Yer Deus Foundation in which we mentor the Youth. The foundation also help school students in Haiti. We have a community computer lab which we call Project Shalom. We also have a back to school event every year for the students at Bastion school in Montrouis Haiti as well Miami and Austin Texas. We feed the homeless community in Miami, Orlando, Florida and Austin Texas. We have grown so much that we want people to know what we do for the City of Miami.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I use to speak at different schools, churches and community events. The struggles we faced was the closer of public places due to Covid19. Things are getting better now but we had a major setback due to those regulations.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Me’Yer Deus Foundation?
Mark Meyer is the Founder of Me’Yer Deus Foundation which is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization. He is the Author of Self-Motivation & Courage, Purpose, and Learning Leadership Curriculum three books focusing on helping others achieve the courage to change their lives through his own personal journey. He is a public speaker working to motivate and encourage students to find their purpose in life. The Me’Yer Deus Foundation mentors those struggling with self-discovery, self-motivation, depression, and low self-esteem. The Foundation’s purpose is to help students make better decisions for themselves. The Foundation is in the process of opening the first computer lab in Montrouis Haiti. The computer lab will be used for leadership training, workshops, technology training and various programs. We have an annual back to school drive in Haiti for the school children. The Foundation partnered with Rebels for Humanity and Serving out of Love in which we feed our homeless community. We do outreach community events with Vous church and we serve OverTown Youth Center as well as Belafonte Tacolcy Center. We pride ourselves with helping people and we would love the community to support our Vision and Mission here in Miami Florida.
Any big plans?
Our plans for the future is to have a facility/building in which we can teach leadership, technology, goal setting, reading, math ext. We are looking for sponsors and people that want to Donate to our Foundation. All the proceeds will go towards funding various projects we have in Miami and Haiti. We have seen a huge following and engagement of our social media sites in which people support and love what we do for the city of Miami.
