Hidden Gems: Meet Liz Bonet of Dr. Liz Hypnosis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Bonet.

Hi Liz, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve almost always worked for myself in some capacity starting by selling door to door in my childhood to win a radio. I left the therapy field for 10 years after earning a PhD and went into the tech world in the 1990s. Eventually I left tech to stay home with my kids but also began building an award winning business, Yogafairy Prenatal Yoga in Broward county. I also opened a private practice in 2009 as a psychotherapist. I ran two businesses at once for many years as a single mom.

Once I sold my yoga business in 2016, I was able to focus more on my private practice that provides psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, and hypnosis to people wanting a fast, easy way to transform.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. I had two little kids at home when I was going through a divorce and no stable income. I got licensed as a psychotherapist after not working for 6 years. It took years to build both my yoga company and my practice and to get my name out into the community. It was a long haul and I focused on long term strategies.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Dr. Liz Hypnosis?
I have a PhD in Clinical Psychology. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and have certification as a Certified Professional Hypnotist, as well as numerous other specialty area certifications.

Specialty areas include:

Insomnia
Couples Therapy
Anxiety, Panic Disorder, and OCD
Trauma / Poor Parenting
Weight Loss and Overeating
Chronic Pain and Conditions
Deeper Healing to change Negative Beliefs

How do you think about happiness?
It happens in small moments rather than an overall feeling. If people tune into those small moments, they’ll start to find more and more of them. I love what I do and it’s very meaningful and satisfying to help people change patterns and raise their own consciousness. I also love to draw and make art. Service is an important part of my life. I volunteer at the Humane Society in the kitten adoption area. I love my own pets – two cats and a terrier mix. All of that brings me happiness.
