Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Gray.
Hi Lisa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Raised in Miami, Florida, my journey has been defined by determination, growth, and a deep commitment to building something meaningful—not just for myself, but for the people around me.
I began my academic path at the University of Florida, but my early career quickly evolved into hands-on leadership roles within some of the nation’s most recognized real estate organizations, including AIMCO, Related Group, and Archstone-Smith.
During that time, I built the operational foundation that would define my career. I earned multiple commendations for NOI performance, curb appeal initiatives, leadership, and customer service excellence—distinguishing myself as both a results-driven operator and a people-focused leader. I also served as a trainer and contributed to the legislative committee for the Florida Apartment Association, which gave me early exposure to industry advocacy, regulatory frameworks, and the broader impact of housing policy.
Those experiences became the steppingstones for everything that followed.
Over the next two decades, I expanded my expertise across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia—developing a reputation for stabilizing operations, building high-performing teams, and guiding communities through complex financial and operational challenges.
While, I was somewhat successful in the corporate realm, I was not completely satisfied. In my forties, I made the intentional decision to return to school—becoming the first college graduate in my family. I enrolled at Florida International University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management and went on to complete my MBA, graduating summa cum laude. During that time, I was honored with the Exceptional Leadership Award by my peers and named a Worlds Ahead Graduate by faculty—recognition that reflected both my academic commitment and my ability to lead and inspire others.
Encouraged by colleagues, mentors, and clients who had seen my leadership firsthand, I made the pivotal decision to go out on my own.
I founded Bespoke Custom Management and Consulting LLC and Bellisimo Realty LLC with a clear vision: to take the structure and discipline of corporate operations and transform it into a more personalized, responsive, and human-centered approach to business.
Through Bespoke Custom Management, I developed a flexible service model offering everything from à la carte consulting to full-service property management. Today, we serve approximately a dozen active communities, allowing each client to receive tailored support aligned with their specific needs—without unnecessary complexity.
At the core of my work is the ability to build and lead strong, adaptable teams. I design operational models that integrate onsite staff, remote support, and trusted vendor partnerships—creating efficient, scalable systems that deliver both accountability and high-quality service.
My leadership philosophy is deeply personal. As a woman-owned business leader, I have intentionally created a workplace that supports flexibility and real-life needs—whether that means accommodating team members managing medical challenges, caring for aging parents, or balancing other responsibilities. I believe that when people are supported, they perform at their highest level.
While my experience spans multiple states and markets, my focus today is firmly rooted in building a strong future in Southeast Florida—helping communities navigate increasing regulatory demands, aging infrastructure, and operational complexity with clarity and confidence.
Beyond business, I am committed to continuous growth—both personally and professionally. My dedication to health and fitness reflects my broader mindset: to continually improve, stay strong, and lead with energy and intention.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple but powerful goal: to help others succeed—and to excel by doing so.
My story is one of self-made success, resilience, and purpose-driven leadership—demonstrating that true achievement is not just about what you build, but how many people you bring forward with you along the way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Deciding to go back to school while launching two companies and managing home life hasn’t been easy—it has been one of the most demanding and defining periods of my life, and in many ways, that challenge continues.
There have been very real financial pressures. Building businesses requires constant reinvestment and calculated risk, and at the same time, I committed to investing in my education. It hasn’t always felt comfortable or certain. There have been moments of questioning—whether I was taking on too much, whether I could sustain the pace, whether it would all come together the way I envisioned.
Self-doubt has also been part of the journey. Returning to college in my forties meant stepping into classrooms where I was often the oldest person there. I had to adapt to new technologies, new systems, and new ways of thinking that had evolved over time. At times, it felt like I was catching up while also trying to move forward at full speed in every other area of my life.
My days often started at 5:00 a.m. and stretched late into the evening. Six- and seven-day weeks became routine. I was constantly shifting between roles—business owner, student, leader, wife, and family member—often without much separation between them. It required not just discipline, but endurance and a willingness to keep showing up, even when it felt overwhelming.
There were also moments where I struggled to maintain my own health and fitness. When you are tired and balancing so many responsibilities, it becomes easy to put yourself last. I had to remind myself—sometimes daily—that taking care of my physical and mental well-being wasn’t optional; it was necessary if I wanted to sustain everything else I was building.
One of the most important turning points for me was accepting that I could not do everything perfectly.
That realization was not easy. I have always held myself to high standards, and learning to let go of perfection—while still striving for excellence—was a shift. I had to redefine success as consistent progress rather than flawless execution. I learned to prioritize, to focus on what mattered most in each moment, and to trust that showing up fully was enough.
That mindset didn’t lower my standards—it made them sustainable.
Even now, the challenges don’t simply go away. Building businesses, leading teams, and continuing to grow personally and professionally requires ongoing strength. There are still long days, difficult decisions, and moments that test resilience. But I’ve learned that strength isn’t about having everything figured out—it’s about continuing to move forward, even when things are uncertain.
This journey has shaped how I lead, how I support others, and how I view success. It has taught me resilience, adaptability, and perspective. And while it hasn’t been easy, it has been meaningful—and that makes all the difference.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At its core, Bespoke Custom Management and Consulting LLC was built on the idea that property management should never be one-size-fits-all. Every community has its own challenges, personality, and priorities—and our role is to tailor solutions that truly fit.
We provide everything from à la carte consulting services to full-service property management, working with approximately a dozen active communities across South Florida. Our clients range from associations needing strategic advisory support to those requiring complete operational oversight, including financial management, compliance, staffing, and capital project execution.
What we are known for—and what truly sets us apart—is our hands-on, executive-level involvement and our ability to build and lead strong, effective teams. We don’t operate through layers of management where decisions get diluted. Our clients have direct access to experienced leadership, and we stay actively engaged in the day-to-day and long-term success of each community.
A key differentiator for us is how we approach team building and operational structure. We design customized staffing models that blend onsite personnel, remote support, and trusted vendors. This allows us to create efficient, scalable systems while maintaining accountability and high service levels. It also gives our clients flexibility—ensuring they are not overpaying for services they don’t need, while still receiving the support they do.
We also bring a strong foundation in financial discipline and regulatory compliance, particularly under Florida Statutes. Our systems are built to provide transparency, accurate reporting, and long-term planning—helping boards make informed decisions with confidence.
But beyond the technical side of what we do, what I am most proud of is how we do it.
Bespoke is a woman-owned business that was intentionally built to support both our clients and our team members. Internally, we prioritize flexibility and real-life balance—creating opportunities for individuals who may be managing medical needs, caring for family members, or navigating life transitions. I believe that when you take care of your team, they take better care of your clients—and that philosophy is embedded in our culture.
Our brand is about accountability, personalization, and people-first leadership. We combine the structure and discipline of large corporate environments with the responsiveness and care of a boutique firm.
What I want readers to know most is this: we are not just managing properties—we are helping communities function better, make stronger decisions, and plan for the future with clarity. And we are doing it in a way that respects both the people we serve and the people who help us serve them.
That balance is what defines Bespoke—and it’s what continues to drive our growth.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is knowing that I did the best I could every single day.
That doesn’t mean everything is perfect—it rarely is. But it means that I showed up, that I put in the effort, and that I stayed committed to doing the right thing, even when it’s difficult. That sense of accountability to myself is what keeps me grounded.
A big part of that comes from losing my mother at a very young age. That experience shaped how I view time, purpose, and responsibility. It made me realize early on that nothing is guaranteed, and that who you become, and how you show up, matters. I carry that with me in everything I do.
I want her to be proud of the person I’ve become, not just in terms of accomplishments, but in how I treat people, how I lead, and how I handle challenges. That means working hard, continuing to grow, and trying to make a positive impact where I can. If I can do something to make someone smile or to feel appreciated or connected, that means everything to me.
At the end of the day, success for me isn’t just about business growth or achievements, it’s about effort, integrity, and knowing that I gave my best with the time I was given.
That’s what matters most.
