Hidden Gems: Meet Dr. Leonard Einstein of You & I Primary Care, Aesthetics and Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leonard Einstein.

Hi Dr. Einstein, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was foreign doctor from Cuba. Arrived to US back in 2009. After attending nursing school at Broward College and Chamberlain University. I became a registered nurse and started working as a Medical Surgical Nurse at Holy Cross Hospital at Fort Lauderdale. It was during my Nurse Practitioner training and education at Florida National University where I discovered my passion for Aesthetics and Preventive Medicine. I graduated as a Nurse Practitioner in 2018 and opened my First Medical Practice in 2019 at West Miami.

Before even realizing it, my practice grew so much that I had to locate another office. Then I found this Place in Aventura where I’m currently now.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well, right after one year since the opening of my practice. I found some struggles. We had CODVID 19 at the beginning of 2020 and a lot of struggles until the end of that year. By 2021 things got back to normal and improved but still a lot of ways to recover.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m a board-certified nurse practitioner. I provide medical services for General Internal and Family Medicine as well as a preventive care. I also provide non-surgical aesthetic’s services like Botox, Dermal Fillers and PDO Threads.

My specialty is my signature nose technique. I’m known as the “Nurse Nose of Miami”.

I also developed my own Lip filler technique and style which have become very popular recently.

What set me apart from others is my humility “something is very rare to find in this industry”.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Yes. My advice is to find a very supportive trainer. I got trained by different dermatologists and plastics surgeons. I think I had a great foundations on aesthetics.

I wish I was aware about all the misconceptions related to my profession. I should had spent my time attending A physician program and training instead of an NP one. I found so many absurd restrictions on the laws of the State of Florida in comparison with other states like Arizona or D.C related to the scope of practice of my profession.

At this point, I just have to deal with it and wait until the laws in Florida get better for us (nurse practitioners) or moving to another state (something I don’t see coming since I have a growing clientele).
