Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathleen Anaya
Hi Kathleen, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Kathleen, and I am the founder of The Beauty Anatomy, a business specializing in post-operative lymphatic massages. My journey began four years ago when I discovered my true calling for service, something I hadn’t previously recognized in myself.
After graduating from International Affairs and Business from working in corporate environments for a couple of years, I found my true passion while working with patients in their post-operative recovery in Miami.
Along the way, I noticed a lack of responsibility and empathy in the growing plastic surgery industry. Often, patients were treated as just another number rather than receiving the care and support they needed. I witnessed firsthand how women’s self-esteem and personal perception transformed with the proper backing. This experience made me realize that it’s not just about superficial changes through plastic surgery, but about providing professional, science-based support to help individuals achieve their dreams and feel happy with their results.
Determined to make a difference, I combined my knowledge and experience. While working in a large corporation in marketing and business development, I studied to complete my licensing as a therapist. I worked weekends to cover my expenses and pay for my studies.
To experience firsthand what it means to be a post-operative patient. I decided to do a procedure myself and facing issues like fibrosis due to inadequate support, I understood even more the importance of a careful and professional approach.
This is when I decided to create The Beauty Anatomy. My goal is to offer a comprehensive and empathetic approach, blending health science with professional support to help individuals not only achieve their dreams but also feel fulfilled and satisfied with their choices. My work is driven by a deep love and dedication to the true beauty found in science and proper care.
TBA become a network platform to connect amazing professionals with patients across Miami.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting and growing The Beauty Anatomy has been challenging, especially as an immigrant. Balancing multiple roles was tough—working in a corporate job, studying to obtain my therapist license, and working additional jobs on weekends to make ends meet. Each of these responsibilities demanded a significant amount of my time and energy, making it crucial for me to excel in my studies and jobs.
Entering the post-operative care field also presented difficulties. I found a lack of standardized practices and genuine empathy in the industry, where many centers treated patients as just another number rather than providing the personalized care they needed.
Additionally, my own experience with post-operative complications, including fibrosis due to inadequate care, was a painful reminder of why proper support is essential. It deepened my commitment to ensuring that The Beauty Anatomy offers the best possible care.
Building trust and establishing a reputation in a new business was also a challenge. However, overcoming these obstacles has only strengthened my resolve to provide compassionate, scientifically-based care and support
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Yes, the Covid-19 crisis has been a revealing experience. It taught me the importance of adapting quickly to new realities and being resilient. I learned to prioritize my clients’ health and well-being and implement safety measures that ensure a safe environment for everyone. It also reinforced my understanding that empathy and emotional support are essential, especially in times of uncertainty. Despite the challenges, this situation motivated me to innovate and seek new ways to offer my services, which has further strengthened my commitment to caring for my clients.
