Hi Justine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello. My name is Justine. All my clients call me Juju. I am a loctician specializing mostly with Sisterlocks and Microlocs. Establishing and maintaining them. I became intrigued with locs over the years and its flexibility and daily freedom. I was amazed at how Sisterlocks looked like loose strands of hair but were actually locs. Eventually i pulled the trigger and got mine done. The cost it took to get them done had me even more curious. For the most part i know a lot of people and my platforms have a large amount of followers. I just knew i may be able to take off with this just as soon as i was able to post about it. I went to learn the skill and got my certification within the sisterlock community. Soon after, i hit the ground running. Obtained a beauty suite and started promoting myself. The more i posted, the more clients. The more clients, the more the word of mouth was spread. I trusted the process all the way around, Sisterlocks isn’t a hairstyle, it’s a lifestyle.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a smooth road mostly. The only con I can say i had to endure, would be going a week without a client in my beginning months, while still having to pay the suite rent weekly.
As you know, we’re big fans of Loyal Locs. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
What sets me apart from others, i strongly feel is probably my desire to see the results over time. When I start locs for a client, and they are loyal to me, I get to watch their journey. Sort of like planting a seed and watching it grow into this magnificent plant. Knowing you were the one who brought it to life and helped it thrive. I am most proud of my quick success of clients. I actually didn’t think I would excel as fast as I did. I am currently working in two states with heavy clientele within just two years. - Sisterlocks is priced based on length of hair. Minimum of 4 inches of hair is $1000 and every inch over is $100 each.
