Today we’d like to introduce you to Jed Shlackman
Hi Jed, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My present business is a holistic therapy practice that includes mental health counseling, energy healing, and hypnotherapy. I began with an interest in psychology and a desire to help others and contribute to the betterment of society. After completing undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology and counseling at the University of Miami I began working as a therapist for children and adolescents. At that time I went through a process of personal exploration of spiritual and holistic healing practices, receiving personal benefit and feeling inspired about how these approaches could help other people. Thus, early in my career I took the leap of starting an independent healing practice after working for community agencies for several years, I stepped into the realm of private practice not knowing what that path would look like or where it would lead. I’ve continued to grow, evolve, and adapt as life has unfolded. I continue to expand my studies in the field of mental health and holistic healing and have increased my presence online, offering therapy via video meetings as well as a great amount of educational content and healing meditations on video platforms.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some challenges in this journey have included navigating the wellness marketplace and keeping up with information technology developments. Promoting my services and connecting with the public now involves more social media activity and video connections than in person networking. When the pandemic unfolded I was led to start working with an online therapy platform to offer sessions covered in-network by insurance so that more people could access my services. When I first started my private practice making connections with potential referral sources in the community required a great deal of time and persistence. A major challenge as a healer or counselor is motivating clients to commit to their healing process, as some come expecting a simple solution to their concerns and may not be willing to follow through with therapy or with needed changes they need to make in their routines or lifestyles. When people don’t follow through or follow up it’s a challenge to maintain a certain amount of detachment, to not feel responsible for other people’s choices or situations. I learn to focus attention on those I can assist rather than on those who I can’t assist.
As you know, we’re big fans of Holistic Counseling, Hypnosis, & Reiki Energy Healing (PsychoEnergetic Healing). For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My healing practice is one that stands out in its holistic approach. This brings together healing practices that support multiple levels of one’s being. I provide support through counseling and coaching as well as through multiple energy healing modalities and through hypnotherapy and regression therapy. Rather than focusing on a specific condition or specific client demographic I address a wide range of issues and clients. I generally prefer to see things more from the view of wholeness and interconnection rather than as separate parts. I’m well known for healing sound bath and meditation sessions, many of which I record and share online. I also teach Reiki energy healing and have numerous clients report seemingly miraculous healing outcomes after experiencing my energy healing treatments. I offer individual and group “past-life” regression hypnotherapy and have seen many people transformed by that form of healing work. I’d like the public to know that there are many great healing resources that they may never have heard about or considered before and many people benefiting from those practices.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Flexibility and a desire to continue learning helps, Also, having passion for what I do and confidence that I can help people fuels success. When you truly excel at what you do and believe in yourself it naturally creates an energy of abundance and attraction around you.
