Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jason Johnson.
Hi Jason, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Starting in 2010, I’ve been a professional photographer, shooting for corporations and small businesses, and in 2014, I was approached by Allergan to help shoot photos for the launch of one of their new products. I shot over 1000 patient photos during a two-year tour around the US, shooting headshots of patients for the launch of Allergan’s product launch, Voluma.
I was immediately approached by doctors during photo shoots and asked if I could come to their practice to set up a photo studio to help with their photography issues. I started working with doctors that I met on the road and word-of-mouth for 10 years.
In 2023, I decided to start Simple Studios, which helps aesthetic medical practices and dental practices with their before and after photography of their patients. Over the years, we have developed specific equipment to help with different space requirements and the photography needs for different parts of the body.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building the company has definitely been a struggle, just like most start-ups.
The interesting thing with the build of this company is that there is no competition and no one seems to have the experience that we do in the specific genre of photography. We are constantly designing new products based on the needs of our customers.
