Hidden Gems: Meet Flavio Arravanti of Arravanti

Today we’d like to introduce you to Flavio Arravanti. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Flavio Arravanti

Arravanti began in Miami Beach in 1997 by Flavio Arravanti. Originally we were a nuovo antiquarian – finding, refinishing, and updating midcentury classic furniture and lighting. Early on we recognized the need for growth and expanded the business into new furniture and lighting lines from Italy.

We started representing well-known Italian brands and Bensen from Canada and we are proud to say that we have continued the partnership ever since and are their longest-term partner in the USA and we still work very closely with them.

Over the last 27 years, we have continued to expand the business and represent over 40 lines, which include such marquee brands as MDF Italia, Acerbis Design, Lema Mobili, CasaDesús, Tacchini, Linteloo and Montis to name a few, and expanding with new and upcoming design companies like Somaschini, Noom from Ukraine, Secolo and others.

We also work closely with important lighting companies from Europe and beyond such as Bomma from the Czech Republic, Rakumba from Australia, DCW from France, and well-known lighting companies from Italy including Vistosi, Artemide, Oluce, and Penta Light. We have a new premium dealership with Flos which will include a new Shop in Shop in our showroom.

We are constantly creating new partnerships to collaborate with, bringing new design options to the Miami market and our new showroom opening in March 2024 will be an incredible representation of the diversity and current trends in interior design.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course, all businesses have some challenges but we have managed to maintain our success in Miami for over 27 years and we are proud to say have seen continued growth year after year because of the relationships we have built with many of Miami’s top interior designers and architectural and design firms as well as those from all over the USA.

The close relationships – friendships really, that we have built over the years are what motivate us to be better every year and look for new and innovative ways to serve our clients and friends better. It’s important for us to grow and change along with Miami.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Arravanti Inc.?
Arravanti Inc. is our registered name, but we are known as Arravanti or Arravanti Contemporary Interiors – which is a little more descriptive of our business. Our history in Miami runs deep. The business opened in 1997 in Miami Beach and while the nature of the business has changed since those early days, we remain committed to offering unique and quality products with exceptional customer service.

Our goal is not to just make a sale, it’s more than that. We want our customers to get the best advice for them and be absolutely happy with their purchase. We have built lasting relationships with many of Miami’s most well-known names in interior design and architecture and we are also open to the public and have many clients from when we opened our doors on Miami Beach 27 years ago.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking.
Everything in the design world is a risk, such as when a manufacturer brings a new product to market, or when we bring a new collection to the showroom. Not everything is going to hit the mark perfectly, but fortunately with our partner brands, a lot of research into the design and innovation happens before the products make it to market.

We have on occasion taken risks in business firstly by moving the showroom back into the Design District in 2003 when very few showrooms were there but we watched it grow around us as other showrooms also started emerging there. Again when we moved the showroom to a larger space on Biscayne Boulevard in the MiMo District people said we were crazy but our business expanded and grew and other businesses soon followed.

Even now, moving to our new showroom space on the corner of 79th St and NE 2nd Avenue could be seen as somewhat of a risk, but the area is up and coming already with new businesses, galleries, and showrooms opening. The city is constantly growing and the Little River area is really full of potential. We’ve already seen change in the area in the last 12 months.
