Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Bandklayder.
Hi Faith, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I had been working in the senior living industry since 2003. In 2016, while I was still working at the community level, I had an ‘AHA’ moment when someone rear ended me on the expressway going home. This got me thinking about how I could use my skills and talents to market myself as a brand, helping people to transition to senior living communities of all types, instead of the one where I had been working at the time. I came to the realization that I was ready to make the leap into ownership and branding of my own company, while still feeling the gratification of helping people through the often-daunting process of transitioning to a senior living community.
I have developed a network of over 150 senior living communities that provide independent living, assisted living and memory care services to their clients. My consulting services are free to the client. Every client is given as much time as they need to explore the options that I have put together for them to review, based on the information that I have gathered through our discussions, as well as meeting with them face to face. I act as a buffer so that I can help them differentiate between the communities, as no two communities are alike even though they may all have the same State of Florida required license. I also am able to negotiate some of the associated fees. My goal is to look ahead to the client’s potential for health declines and try to place them in a community that can meet their needs going forward, so they won’t have to move again.
The value that i bring, is that the family member or the prospect themself doesn’t know what they don’t know. I act as a buffer between the sales force at the community whose mission is to convince the client to move into their community. What I do, is provide a good cross-section of anywhere between three and six communities for the family to explore and explain what makes each one different. In getting to know the family, I can determine what the best fit would be and to limit the communities to those that I feel would work the best. Usually, the family or the client is in a very stressed out state of mind and they really can’t process all the information. The time and money that I can save the client is invaluable to them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the struggles is to overcome the clients’ objections to my assistance. Most appreciate and value what I offer, but a very small percentage think that they can handle things on their own and that’s ok.

Faith Bandklayder, President of Welcome Home Senior Services and Placement Company, is a seasoned veteran of the senior living industry, with over twenty-two years’ experience in sales and marketing. She began her career first as a Marketing Consultant and then became Director of Marketing in Miami, Florida. Her greatest reward is helping the elderly decide how to begin their new adventure in Independent and Assisted living. Her company provides free hands on personalized services to those seeking senior living placement. Faith has received her Assisted Living Administrator Core license and also has her Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY at Stony Brook.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I love to travel, spend time with my family and grandchildren and cuddle with animals.
