Hi Erick, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My love for makeup and beauty began in high school. Like many adolescents, I struggled with my skin, so I took matters into my own hands and began teaching myself how to camouflage my blemishes in a natural, undetectable way. What started as a way to protect myself from being bullied quickly grew into a true passion. Makeup became not just a form of coverage, but a form of self-expression and art.
I practiced on friends and family, which helped me sharpen my skills and build confidence. Before long, I was being booked regularly for Sweet 16s, Quinceañeras, Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, and other special events.
Today, I am a licensed esthetician and an established makeup artist with over ten years of experience. I specialize in bridal, runway/editorial, and film/commercial work. What I love most about my career is the people I meet—everyone who sits in my chair has a unique story. Connecting with them and creating a look that makes them feel confident and beautiful is truly my favorite part of what I do.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part, it’s been a journey of progress—not always smooth, but definitely evolving. Like many artists, I’ve experienced creative blocks and moments of feeling uninspired, especially when I find myself creating the same makeup looks for different clients. Trends often influence what people request, and many clients want the same on-trend style. While I always aim to deliver what makes them feel beautiful, it can sometimes leave me wanting more creatively, as if I’m stuck in a box repeating the same look again and again.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is spending hours drawing. I’ve always been a creative child, and drawing and painting were some of my favorite things to do growing up. To this day, my mom, dad, and grandparents still have some of my drawings I gifted them when I was little.
