Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddy W. Fabre Jr..
Hi Eddy W., it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After graduating from Tuskeegee University in 1988, I took a job at AT&T doing data entry. I saw that many of my peers, even with degrees, were stuck in entry level roles with limited growth. Management seemed inflexible. I realized early that the life & career that I wanted for myself would not come from staying there. Conversations with seasoned coworkers led me to believe that it might be better to work for myself.
My father, Eddy Sr, had already built an insurance business in Miami. He believed in empowering each of his children (my siblings and I) to have their own path. In 1987 he opened a branch for me in Deerfield Beach, where our agency still stands today & I had to learn fast.
In the first six months we focused on marketing via radio and distributing flyers. I volunteered in local organizations to build trust and recognition. The hardest part of business back then was getting our name out there.
What set me apart was perseverance, humility, and faith. I learned to listen deeply, to explain things clearly, and to always put people’s needs first. Over time clients referred others. The agency’s reputation grew. Today Ed’s Insurance Agency is not only a business but a legacy I hope to pass on to my children.
What brought me from that first job to where I am now is faith in the Lord tenacity, and the constant support of family. Every day I strive to offer security and peace of mind to the people we serve.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The path was not always easy as the insurance market is always subject to change with econmics, hurricanes and rate changes.
There is also increasing comptetion of other agents. Over the years, we have had to adapt, pivot and always keep marketing. We are in the people business.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned is to put consumers first.
