Hidden Gems: Meet Dr. David Lipman of Physical Evidence

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. David Lipman

Hi Dr. David, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The story of the pathway to my career began at ten years old. A boy living next door to me, a few years older and whose father was involved in martial arts and Eastern philosophy, prevailed upon me to start exercising and eating clean and natural food then. I took to the whole concept immediately and began exercising first thing in the morning during the summer when I was 10 years old, and continued to be mindful of the things that I ate and to focus on strengthening my body through daily exercise.

A new pathway to a career started when I began to experience pain in my neck due to a motorcycle injury that I had when I was 15. Which resulted in two broken vertebrae. At that time, I was primed to go into my family business which was plumbing manufacturing. However, the path of taking on a healthy lifestyle, at that young age plus an injury that was considerable, led me to a chiropractor who I sought treatment from, and through that treatment, very quickly found that my pain and dysfunction were alleviated. This experience propelled me into the degree path for Chiropractic so I shifted my career direction as a result.

Having been a patient first, as well as being interested in the body and how the body works and how to get the body to function better, my health journey continued to evolve which changed the way my practice focus was as well.

For me, I continued to try new things that I do to try to enhance my health daily. Being a chiropractor has also enabled me to impart the things that I’ve learned onto thousands of patients and I continue to strive to be a resource to people who are also struggling with various health conditions that I’ve been fortunate enough to understand in order to find a pathway to overcome and then again share it with patients to help them resolve things as well.

My approach is a culmination of years and years of personal and professional experience. So, it’s unique in that sense that I didn’t learn anything that I do in any one place, but I have extrapolated from many experiences and technologies that I was exposed to and have integrated it into what I now call chiropractic fusion. I’ve also been fortunate to be exposed to many of the modalities that have come out in recent years, all with the focus of how to continually tap into your body’s best healing capabilities and do that regularly with daily processes. This lifestyle keeps me feeling like I’m in my 30’s, but I am in my mid-60s.

My practice, which I now call a bio-optimization center has also evolved, and I’m able to share these processes and lifestyle habits with many patients who are also equally interested in bettering themselves because they have found that as they’ve gotten older even only into their thirties and forties that they don’t feel the health and vitality that we should all feel. My practice continues to grow and evolve based on new information coming out that I make it an ongoing quest to understand so I can continually invest in my health and teach my patients to do the same. Everything that my practice offers is something that I use all the time as I never offer anything that I’m not currently doing myself.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth at all. I’ve had to reinvent myself several times along the way, which in my opinion is since when I first began practicing, Health Insurance provided satisfactory reimbursement for the work that was done. However, by the mid-nineties, that drastically changed to the point where it was almost impossible to deliver quality care and still be able to pay the bills.

After practicing in New York and then Connecticut, I finally began practicing again in South Florida, where I had made the decision to no longer take insurance and to invest in effective modalities and processes that would help people get well quickly. Unfortunately, the things that insurance covers would not provide me with that same ability. So, my decision was to no longer work for insurance companies but to work for patients instead.

This has enabled me to invest in equipment and various modalities that help to resolve a patient’s issues quickly. And so now I’m able to deliver the type of quality care I am committed to and still be able to keep the doors open.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Physical Evidence?
The concept of my business, physical evidence, is that the body has very specific functionality, and when things cause deviation from that functionality the body will break down which leads to pain and dysfunction. The concept of physical evidence helps to reveal the true functioning of the body, and how I can as a practitioner, help to redirect or remove the obstacles to somebody’s optimal functioning and get them to the point where they’re not only no longer in pain but to provide them with a pathway to processes that they can incorporate daily to maintain a pain-free and functional lifestyle..

My process as a chiropractor is unique only to me as I have gone through various experiences and tried new methods, integrating some of those methods, and creating a full treatment plan which sets me apart from others. I have consistently added and integrated new therapies, each providing its value which synergistically provides safe and highly effective whole treatment.

For people who are interested in learning more about what we do, I would tell them that the basic premise of Physical Evidence is that all the processes that we offer are about getting the body to do its best healing and functioning. Because nothing can heal the body like the body can heal itself. We simply need to help it by removing obstacles and fortifying deficiencies that may exist to get the body to do its best work.
