Hidden Gems: Meet Dori Shwirtz of Divorce Harmony

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dori Shwirtz.

Hi Dori, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my business about 8 years ago. I saw a need for easier divorce options for people in the community that didn’t want to spend their entire life savings on an unfortunate life event. I am an attorney and University of Miami school of law grad but never felt drawn to any field in particular except connecting with people. After hearing about one too many disaster stories of people in my circle, Divorce Harmony was born. I provide a no court, mediated divorce so couples can make all the decisions on their own terms without relying on attorneys and a system that doesn’t necessarily hold their best interest at heart. It’s a one stop shop where I provide a-z service of mediation, drafting all prepared documents and filing with the court as well as 24/7 guidance for clients usually going through one of the hardest times in their lives.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There has been a learning curve since I started Divorce Harmony. But it’s exciting and interesting to see all of the progress through the last few years making divorce attainable and affordable for more people. When I first started the biggest obstacle was getting my mission out there. Most people think you have to hire 2 attorneys and go to court to fight it out just like they see on TV. Awareness has not always been easy but the longer I practice the wider the net is cast and
I’m able to provide the personalized service my clients are looking for whether it be a divorce, a postnuptial agreement, divorce coaching and more.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Divorce Harmony?
Divorce Harmony offers mediation via our online platform. It’s a formula that works nicely and we support our clients from the beginning until their case is finalized. At the conclusion of the mediation, I also draft all required documents for both parties and file with the Florida court for a no court divorce. My clients receive their final judgment via email. I also provide coaching and pre and postnuptial agreements. What sets me apart is my affordability and my accessibility. I make myself available to my clients and really truly care about every case like they are the top priority. I pride myself on the rapport I have established with my clientele and they range from multi-millionaires to individuals in jail, 20 year old’s to 80 year old’s and every ethnicity and race. I’m proud that I have grown my little idea into a business where I have assisted 1000’s of individuals with a more amicable, affordable and less stressful divorce.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the divorce industry moving forward with no signs of slowing down. I think technology and AI will play a greater role as well as more alternatives to the “traditional” costly divorce. I see it in my business already. I have had many couples come to me for a consultation and then they ultimately go with 2 attorneys because one spouse feels uncomfortable and thinks they need an attorney to “protect” them. Fast forward 6 months or so and so many of these couples will call me to say they are $100,000 out of pocket with nothing to show for it. Needless to say, these attorneys are let go and I make sure we get everything completed in the way they originally intended.
