Hi Donovan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I was 18, I bought my first house, thinking I’d rent it out for some steady income. But after crunching the numbers, I realized I could make a lot more by selling it instead. So, I sold it, made a nice profit, and that sale changed everything for me. I kept repeating the process—buy, flip, sell—and with each deal, I got better at it. Fast forward to now, I’m 21, and my company is on track to flip 80-90 properties this year. What started as a single sale has grown into a thriving business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Anyone who says every part of their journey has been smooth isn’t telling the truth. There were many struggles which included figuring out how to fund all my deals and then managing contractors. A good contractor can make you a ton of money in real estate but a bad one can make you go out of business. On the third house I ever bought I lost money because I had terrible contractors. The good thing is that this taught me how to properly qualify contractors and now I have an amazing team of contractors.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a team of 10 people. 8 full time and 2 part time and together we flip 80-90 houses per year. We specialize in finding highly discounted off market deals. We are known for providing quality housing to the treasure coast. We also provide a very easy way for sellers to sell their home quickly and stress free. What sets us apart is that we can provide sellers with multiple options to sell their home with a balance of getting the most amount of money and having the quickest and easiest process. I am most proud of the culture we have at Camarotti Homes where our employees are exited to come to work and have a passion for their job.
