Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Carrick.
Hi Danielle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey with Pure Barre started over 10 years ago in New York, where I was an undergrad student. I came in through the front desk as a “Barretender,” greeting clients and building community from day one. As a former competitive gymnast and cheerleader, I instantly fell in love with the Pure Barre technique — the shake, the burn, the way it challenged my body in an entirely new way.
From there, Pure Barre became a constant in my life, following me through two cross-country moves. With each chapter, I took on new roles, deepened my understanding of the business, and eventually became a teacher. After settling in South Florida — and on my third time inquiring about franchising — the opportunity finally presented itself to take over ownership of two existing studios. It felt like the path had been leading there all along.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, yes. Over the years I worked under various owners, and each experience taught me something different — every leader has their own style, and those contrasts were incredibly valuable. Through it all, the Pure Barre brand and technique remained consistent and innovative, which always served as a strong foundation.
The most significant challenge I faced as a transfer studio owner was stepping into a struggling business and rebuilding it from the ground up. It requires a fresh perspective, deep passion, and the resilience to create momentum toward your vision — essentially starting over while the lights are already on. I’m incredibly grateful for the team I’ve built along the way, who not only share that vision but show up every day to support the journey.
We’ve been impressed with Pure Barre – Jupiter, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pure Barre is a low-impact, high-intensity barre fitness method that uses small, isometric movements to tone and strengthen the entire body. What makes the technique so special is that it’s accessible to everyone, regardless of fitness level or age, while still delivering a genuinely challenging workout every single time. Because it’s low-impact and joint-friendly, Pure Barre is safe and effective through every stage of life — from injury recovery and prevention, to pregnancy and postpartum, to long-term sustainable fitness. It meets you exactly where you are, adapts as your body changes, and gives you a method you can return to again and again throughout your life.
We offer five distinct class formats — Classic, Align, Empower, Define, and Reform — so that every client can find what works best for their body and goals. From restorative and alignment-focused classes to strength and cardio-driven formats, our programming is designed to be your one membership for cross-training. You don’t need multiple gym memberships — you need one studio where the variety is already built in.
Beyond the workout, we are also a retail boutique carrying popular athleisure brands, making it easy for our clients to look and feel their best inside and outside the studio.
What sets us apart goes beyond the technique. As an owner with a background in psychology, I bring a deep understanding of the mind-body connection to everything we do. Wellness, to me, is holistic — it’s not just about physical strength, but about how we feel, how we show up, and how we care for ourselves from the inside out. That philosophy is woven into the culture of our studios and the experience we create for every client who walks through our doors.
What I’m most proud of is building a space where people feel seen, supported, and challenged. Whether someone is walking through our doors for the first time or has been a member for years, my goal is for every client to leave feeling stronger than when they came in and feeling like they truly poured into themselves during each 50-minute class.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
The biggest risk I’ve taken was stepping into ownership of two existing studios and committing to turning them around — all while working to turn a profit, rebuild the brand’s reputation, and authentically earn the trust of both my staff and my members. That last part, to me, was the greatest challenge. Trust isn’t given, it’s built — and doing that in an environment where people had existing expectations and experiences required patience, consistency, and a clear vision.
As a business owner, I believe you have to be comfortable with risk — no risk, no reward. But I also think smart risk-taking is just as important as bold risk-taking. Every decision I make has a ripple effect on the people I employ and the clients who walk through my doors. That responsibility keeps me grounded and analytical, even when I’m being ambitious. Risk, for me, isn’t about being reckless — it’s about being intentional, doing the work, and having enough belief in your vision to bet on it.
I’d also say that my relationship with risk extends well beyond business. I’m an adrenaline junkie at heart — whether I’m jumping out of a plane or saying yes to the next adventure, I’ve always been someone who leans into the thrill rather than away from it. I think that spirit carries over into how I approach business. Calculated, yes — but never afraid to jump.
