Hidden Gems: Meet Chris Catanzaro of Kynetic Integrations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Catanzaro.

Chris, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Our story being on a hinge date. I met my fiancée and business partner, Kynsie in the fall of 2022. Kynsie is an Occupational Therapist and I have a long background in health care (on the administration side). After dating for a few years, Kynsie couldn’t find a work place that she felt offered what she wanted to do within occupational therapy (OT). After many months of coming home frustrated and multiple job switched I told her we should open our own company. I knew the back office duties of health care and she knew what it means to be an OT.

So we did. We created Kynetic Integrations and she started to see patients on the side while she worked for other companies. After a few months 1 patient became 10, then 20 and so on. She eventually left her job within 6 months and went full time with it.

With in the last year we grew incredibly fast and opened up our own state of the art facility. We built a custom, one of a kind nature based sensory gym and designed the office of our dreams.

What makes our office and sensory gym so special is that we designed it completely around nature which is calming and relaxing. Most sensory gyms are “loud”, meaning they have very bright and almost aggressive colors. A ton of blues, reds, greens, and yellows. That paired with white walls and LED lights over head, can be quite overstimulating to a child who is already overstimulated. We wanted the opposite, our sole focus is on regulation and one’s most regulated when they’re calm.

Our goal is to reach as many families as we can so we can help those families reach the goals that are most important to them.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been an amazing journey but smooth sailing was never part of it. We’ve over come so much in the last year and a half that we’ve been open.

One thing in particular that comes to mind is that Kynsie and I are due to get married in March of this year. What makes opening and running a new office ever more challenging is also having to plan and pay for a wedding (lol). It’s been so amazing but also so stressful. Between getting her wedding dress made with seeing up to 8 patients in a day, Kynsie has a lot on her plate.

We’re so blessed to have these “problem” tho. By no measure are we complaining, we’re so grateful to be able to have such a meaningful and successful company that we’ve built from scratch.

We’ve been impressed with Kynetic Integrations , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What we do is pediatric occupational therapy but probably not in the way most people imagine.

When people hear “pediatric OT,” they often think of fine motor skills or daily living tasks like handwriting and tying shoes. While we absolutely support those areas, our specialty is sensory integration – helping all of a child’s sensory systems work together the way they’re meant to.

Many children who are labeled as “anxious,” “fidgety,” or “disruptive” are actually struggling with sensory systems that aren’t communicating efficiently. When the brain has trouble processing sensory input, everyday environments can feel overwhelming, confusing, or even distressing. Our job is to help make the world feel more organized and manageable for their nervous system.

We start by identifying the root of what’s going on. Every child has unique strengths, along with areas where they may need a little (or sometimes a lot) more support. From there, we design highly individualized therapy plans tailored specifically to that child’s needs, helping them build skills, confidence, and independence.

We’ve had the privilege of working with so many families who felt stuck or like they were running out of options. One of our core beliefs is that there’s no such thing as a “bad kid”, just a child who needs more understanding, the right support, and a little extra care and attention.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Families can start by simply reaching out if they have concerns about their child’s behavior, sensory sensitivities, emotional regulation, or developmental skills. We’re always happy to talk and see how we can help.

We also love collaborating with schools, teachers, pediatricians, and other professionals who support children. Working together allows us to better serve kids through consultations, education, and shared strategies.

Community partnerships are a big part of our mission as well. We enjoy hosting workshops, participating in local events, and spreading awareness about sensory integration and pediatric occupational therapy.

And one of the most meaningful ways to support us is by sharing our message. When families share their experiences and help others understand that support is available, it allows us to reach the children who need us most.
