Hidden Gems: Meet Cesar De Los Santos of Cesar’s Lists

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cesar De Los Santos.

Hi Cesar, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’d say this all started a few years back. I was traveling a lot at the time and used to make to-do lists for all of the trips, since i don’t like to miss out on anything. They would include attractions, events, restaurants, bars, etc. Soon my friends found out and started asking if i could send them my Miami list or my Chicago list. So they just be came known as “Cesar’s Lists”. So about two and a half years ago, while trying to figure out what to call my page, i just went with that. The page started as a collection of lists, which included top restaurants in certain areas, top rooftop bars, best Happy Hours, etc. And i would make these for different cities and areas, mostly in South Florida. They i started to expand to lists in Puerto Rico, Aruba and Key West as well. The Best Restaurants in Key West list is the one that really blew up with over half a million views, so that’s when i knew i was on to something. After a while, I started getting invites to visit Restaurants, bars, speakeasies and events, so i started to make videos of the experiences as well. The page today is still known for the lists and restaurant visits, but now have expanded to Hotel and Resort content, Bartender spotlights, giveaways, highlighting new opening spots as well as spots that have recently closed. While it is time consuming to gather and create all of the content, it has been a lot of fun and lead to a lot of cool opportunities while meeting a lot of interesting people. Still learning and growing, but I’m here for the ride.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Making time for everything involved in content creation, from capturing the content to editing, while still having a full time day job is a struggle at times, but you just have to be balanced and keep whatever self-made deadlines on schedule.
One other struggle has been to make sure to stay in shape while eating at all of these restaurants, but i think I’ve got that under control with a regular workout schedule and meal prepping throughout the week. Balance is everything.
I think a lot of the struggles and doubts are in our own head. We start doubting ourselves and hold back at times. But I’ve learned to just keep posting and improving wherever i can, as well as listening and learning from others. Some of the posts you put the most time into might not perform as well, yet a quick easy posts blows up. You never know what will do well, so just have to be consistent with posting.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Overall, this page is for people who are curious about new and established restaurants, bars and venues to visit, fun events coming up, new things to try, or just recapping events that happen in the area. Anyone with FOMO, like me.

I live in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, but i cover all of South Florida, from Palm Beach to Miami, as well as any other cities or countries that i might visit.

The page is known mainly for the lists: Top Restaurants, Top Bars, Best Happy Hours, etc., broken down into general areas or cities. I also do a lot of restaurants visits and capture the experience, highlighting as much detail of the food and restaurant as possible, with the goal of having the viewer visit it as well.

What sets me apart is that i keep it real. If i’m not interested in something, then i can’t be fake and push for it. I try to cover things i like and in turn things i think others will enjoy as well.

I’m proud that a lot of people enjoy the posts and stories, and i appreciate all of the feedback and support i’ve received so far. It motivates me to keep going and improving.

The brand logo is basically me in one of my cowboy hats, which i wear on weekends and on vacation. It’s funny to me now that if some people see me without one of my hats on, they ask “where’s your hat?”. I do enjoy wearing them, so i don’t mind at all. It tells me that the brand has a known look now.

I’m working on new collaborations with different brands and starting to put together social events to meet others with the same interests and possible work together, as well as just have some drinks and have a good time. Can’t be all work and no play.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve received a lot of support from close friends who pushed me to keep going, keep creating and grow the page and brand. Sometimes we overthink the simplest things. Its good to have people who have your back and really want you to do well.

There’s also a lot of support from fellow content creators and influencers. They understand all the work it takes to make the content, so its nice to have others to talk to who go through the same struggles, growing pains and even doubts that might come up.

My parents have also been very supporting of course. I like to take them to some visits as well so they can experience it. They enjoy it. I might have to make a series with just them!
