Today we’d like to introduce you to Armica Nabaa.
Hi Armica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in Detroit but spent 25 years in Georgia and have recently moved to Miami. I graduated from Kennesaw State University in Atlanta where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management and minor in Sports Marketing. I also have my Master of Science in Education | Sports Administration Degree from the University of Miami.
The first professional athlete that I managed stemmed from a real estate transaction that grew into a long-term working relationship. From there, I was able to turn my passion for helping others, interest and love for sports to start my sports management company. Positive word of mouth travels fast in the professional athlete circles, so it has allowed me to continue to grow.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge in my business is my gender. Followed by the complexity of sports agents crossing over into management and other services.
As you know, we’re big fans of ATB Sports and Entertainment Group. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We assist clients with their philanthropic endeavors, business management, lifestyle management, brand management, real estate and relocation services, and public relations solutions | reputation management. We also serve as their liaison and facilitator.
I’m known for my dedication, ability to educate, honesty, and work ethic. I make sure my clients are truly taking care of. Sometimes you have to provide tough love to individuals who are used to hearing “yes” a lot. My guiding principle for good management is to maintain the love for helping others. It’s important to understand that working with high net worth individuals – especially athletes and entertainers – is a blessing while still treating them like a normal person.
Our company goal is to be the go-to management company for professional athletes and entertainers. Also, that every client will retire financially secure and transition from their respected sport to a second career choice seamlessly.
We are most proud of our philanthropy impact. Everyone we work with past and present had the heart to give. Our duty is to help others and give to those less fortunate. We strategically assist with their philanthropic efforts.
Business is growing as I add additional services and recently opening the new Miami location. This has been extremely appealing for current and new clients. It sets ATB apart from many of the other sport and entertainment management companies. We can handle everything in-house.
We are exploring opportunities with new clients, working more with corporate entities, expanding the real estate division and our philanthropic powers to South Florida.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I recently became a vegetarian, I love to cook, and currently working on a cookbook.
And I like watching my client’s game at home this ensures no one will hear me fussing at the refs or other players.
