Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Chisholm.
Hi Amy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my story. I’m a fitness trainer, and I help people build strong, healthy lives—now and for the long haul—through fitness. My favorite part of this work is helping others fall in love with movement, especially those who never thought they could.
Like most people, I didn’t come to fitness naturally. I went to college for graphic design. In high school, I considered myself the artsy type. I didn’t play sports, and I wasn’t particularly studious—so art felt like my lane. But as I got older, my career choice started to affect me in ways I couldn’t ignore. I was dealing with constant back pain, migraines, and insomnia. Sitting at a computer for hours, staring at a bright screen, became a cycle of pain and frustration.
At the time, I thought pain meant I shouldn’t lift, so I avoided it—and continued to suffer. Eventually, something had to change. After many doctors, procedures, and every treatment I could think of, I had a realization: I could live with pain from doing nothing, or I could live with pain that came with purpose. That’s when my journey to a healthier, more active life truly began.
My 20s were a whirlwind of having and raising children, and I spent much of that time trying to “get my body back.” Around 26, I started teaching simple fitness classes for other moms—with the kids right there beside us. It felt good to move and even better to help others do the same. Those early classes gave me a sense of purpose and showed me that I had a natural ability to lead, encourage, and create connection through movement.
In my early 30s, I became fully committed—not just to changing my body, but to understanding how and why things work. I studied, experimented, and refined everything I was learning into something sustainable. During that time, I created the first fitness app in the iTunes Store and went on to write a book focused on women’s fitness. I became my own case study, showing up every day—even when life was messy, unpredictable, or overwhelming.
Eventually, my body became my own billboard—and I can say without a doubt, after hundreds of training sessions over nearly 20 years, I can help change your life far more easily than I changed my own. More importantly, I’ll teach you how to maintain it—so you can live strong, healthy, and confident in your own skin. You’ll also learn the truth about the fitness industry: what’s backed by real science and what’s just noise.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like I was saying, I wasn’t born into fitness or handed an ideal body. I had my share of challenges—scoliosis, feet turned in at birth, early surgeries, and doctors who placed limits on me without understanding how essential an active life would be. I won’t go into all of it, but those physical issues created a steep learning curve. I had to figure out how to train smart, stay consistent, and adapt to whatever life threw at me—including the kind of setbacks and stressors that make most people want to quit.
Along the way, I’ve met people with challenges far greater than mine—people who’ve inspired me deeply. They reminded me that strength doesn’t always look like perfection. Sometimes it looks like patience, persistence, and simply showing up.
Every challenge pushed me to dig deeper, get creative, and figure out what actually works long-term. That’s the perspective I bring to my clients. I build systems that work in real life—with real demands, changing bodies, and unpredictable schedules. No shame. No shortcuts. Just progress that lasts.
Strength is showing up when it’s inconvenient. It’s building muscle that supports your life—not just your image. It’s protecting your bones, your joints, your heart, and your peace of mind. True strength doesn’t fade with trends—it holds. And once I learned how to build that, I never looked back.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Fitness with Amy Chisholm?
I’m the owner of Fitness with Amy Chisholm and Elite Yacht Fitness. My work is centered around one simple goal: helping people feel strong, capable, and at home in their bodies. I offer highly personalized fitness coaching that’s rooted in science, focused on results, and always tailored to the individual in front of me. And—I love it. I believe my client reviews tell an amazing story of how that passion shows up in every session.
Over the years, I’ve worked with clients of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Some come to me with long fitness histories; others are just getting started. What they all have in common is a desire to feel better—stronger, more energized, more confident—and a need for structure that actually works.
I train people in private gyms, home studios, and aboard private yachts—because fitness should travel with you. No matter where life takes you, your health can come with you.
What sets my work apart is the balance between clarity and customization. I don’t offer cookie-cutter programs. I take the time to understand what each client needs, how their body responds, and how to keep them progressing without burning out. It’s a collaborative process built on respect, accountability, and trust.
Fitness isn’t just something I teach—it’s something I live. That consistency allows me to lead by example and guide others with both insight and integrity.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
There’s no one “right” way to train. Everyone is different. Everyone is unique.
I’ve learned that fitness is deeply personal—it’s not just about what you see in the mirror, but how you feel in your own skin. It taps into a part of your brain that reminds you: you can finish what you start. You can do hard things. The harder you train, the better you adapt—not just in the gym, but in life. Your body is your temple. It’s the only one you get. Treat it well, and it will return the favor.
There’s no perfect way to be fit. But when you commit to the process, it becomes a reflection of your resilience—your ability to stay consistent and face challenges head-on. It’s not about perfection. It’s about progress.
And the most rewarding part? Everything in life starts to fit better. Your energy, your mindset, your confidence—it all begins to shift. The work you put in doesn’t just change your body. It changes how you move through the world.
So why wait? Start now. Together, we’ll build the strongest, most powerful version of your temple—one that supports you for life.
