Giovanina Valero on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Giovanina Valero. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Giovanina, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Yes, I’ve been so glad of didn’t act fast. If there’s something that make me proud of myself is have learned that a pause can save anything, a bond, a collab, a project or a job.

And of course that I learned that after burn bridges with acting fast, impulsively, totally victim of my emotions.

Back in 2015 just with a few months living in miami I experienced the impact of impulsivity, the consequences of a reaction instead of a response ending the current job I had at the time. With that action I accelerated the process, the lessons of the universe, because energetically I was done with the job, with the place months before but I was in denial, I preferred keep complaining instead of act, make a plan and moved forward. So one day someone did something, another person said something that triggered me and boom I reacted, burned the bridge and end up with a job from one minute to another.

This piece of my story is just a reminder that be able to apply a pause, take a deep breath and wait it’s necessary. Can be hard but it’s totally worth it.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a woman who loves mixing passions, I understood that few years ago, after questioning myself a lot. Turns out that my moon in Gemini implies a deep need of communicate but also a diversity of interests so here I am. A mother, a woman, an astrologer, writer, business owner, etc.

I created NinaOpina in 2016 at that point was just a log where I wrote about what I was living, either maternity or a delicious recipe that I made at home.

NinaOpina has evolved and is now a space where I look for inspire and educate from the astrology lived as a self knowledge tool more than a mandatory condition.
A space where you can build yourself up from inside to outside because we have a clothing line and accessories.

A space where I mix astrology, fashion, arts and writing. Currently working on a new capsule collection inspired in my love for coffee and in the second edition of a workshop named “get ready cósmico” so we can get fully prepared for 2026

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Definitely the moment when my dad passed away changed everything. It’s was really transformative, heartbreaking, the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced.

I just had one month of postpartum so you can imagine how we’re my hormones and my nervous system, ahhh also you can add that Padme had lice.

The way I started looking at the world in may of 2017 totally changed.

I could understand that life and death go hand by hand and there’s nothing you can change or control about it.

World is a complex place, emotions from one extreme to another coexist and it’s our job be prepared, internally, spiritually to navigate in between them.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
¡Be patient Giovita!
Stop fighting. It’s okay to show your vulnerability, your emotions more than just with anger.

Feeling is not weakness. It’s strength.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Love to talk about this topic! The astrology still is a misunderstood concept for so many even now that has become essential for big figures like politicians, musicians and artists.

There’s still plenty of people who see this tool as a rule who government their life and not like a door to know your self betterment and by default take aligned actions and live better every time more.

Another astrology missconception, for me, is that your work and his value just relay on haw many followers, how many views or whatever interaction demanded by social media platforms.

And don’t forget the absurd idea or belief that astrology is just a horoscope.

Here in miami these are really common.

I know there’s a lot of people understanding and using astrology in a powerful way but there’s more work to do, and it’s in the hand of who, like me have the wisdom in this field.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
Uff! This question is serious and deep shit for a person who have the south node in Scorpio and the north in Taurus.

The bigger picture of my life lessons is in terms of possessions and sharing, what I have and how can I share it with others.

So for all my experiences in life that showed vividly my cosmic dna I know for sure that if I lost my name, my role and possessions, there still will be Giovanina for so long, even if it’s with another name or no name. My essence, my black sense of humor, my resilience, my faith and absolute certainty will be intact.

ASTRONOTE: The nodes are points in your natal chart that can give you a main subject of the lessons in your life) they work in pair a true or north node and south node, the north node is the uncomfortable, the unknown, mean while the south node is what we know, what is familiar, but not for familiar means good.

The south node is the drainage where everything that stop us from evolving must go. The north node is the new path, new scenery that implies uncertainty.
