Exploring Life & Business with Vanessa Sperduto of Easybreezy Bnb Vacation Rental Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vanessa Sperduto.

Hi Vanessa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was previously a flight attendant living with my boyfriend in a duplex he owned, We were living on one side and renting out the other to a long-term tenant. Covid hit and my flying stopped due to the pandemic.

During that time our long-term tenant decided to move out and since I was so bored at home all day long I had the idea to try out Airbnb. It turned out to be a great experience and from there my boyfriend and I decided to start a vacation rental management company that we scaled to 12 properties and just a little over a year, We now have a full team we employ and are steadily growing our portfolio.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Keeping up with the growth while trying to find the right team to employ was a huge challenge for us. We were growing so fast that my partner and I were barely keeping our heads above water since we were handling all the day-to-day operations are self.

Just finding the time to interview people felt almost impossible but it had to get done if we wanted to be able to continue scaling the company. Learning to build out systems and implement them was another big challenge we faced. Creating cleaning routines and manuals that allowed our team to follow the processes with or without us present was a huge challenge.

We’ve been impressed with Easybreezy Bnb Vacation Rental Management, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a short-term rental management company/brand. We specialize in single-family homes in the east Broward area but are hoping to expand soon. Our portfolio is a mix of properties my partner Sean Howell owns as well as properties we manage on behalf of our clients.

We have been working hard at creating a brand for our company and becoming the go-to name when people think of vacations in our area. We work hard at being a positive force in our community, from creating jobs that pay a liveable wage, to educating other hosts outside of our network about what it means to host responsibly, we make an effort to leave a positive impact on every aspect of our community that our company engages with.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think we are going to see a huge change in our industry over the next few months even. Airbnb aka short-term rentals has gotten insanely popular over the last few years and everyone wants to have a go at it so the market is becoming over-saturated.

The space has become increasingly competitive and professional making it difficult for the “mom and pops” trying to do this as a side hustle to make a little extra income on the side, I think we will see a decrease in those types of hosts as it’s going to get more and more difficult for them to compete with the pros.
