Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Maya.

Hi Sara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My entrepreneurial journey started as a Florida International University student in their “PRAC” program, which stands for Public Relations, Advertising, and Communications. I interned at a boutique Public Relations agency in Miami, and on my journey, I realized that the agency needed improved management organization and systems. In addition, I noted a need for upgraded strategy and professionalism regarding how business was completed. This and other obstacles observed inspired me to begin my own business Paradigm Collective which I opened while still in school and learning.

After I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree, I decided to continue my education and receive my Master of Science in Digital Audience Strategy from Arizona State University, Arizona my home state. It was important to me to give my allegiance to both of my favorite states. That being said, my degree in Digital Audience Strategy encompasses everything digital marketing, which perfectly supplements my original degree. I saw the value of being well-versed in public relations and digital marketing. So I followed my intuition in knowing the opportunities it would bring in the future and went for it!

My personalization and close relationships with my clients make my business stand out. I build trust, and loyalty, and add value to companies and organizations. I take care of their digital and traditional marketing creative and strategic needs so they can focus on running their business to its full potential. I live by the success of my clients, which results in my success and is what drives those to work with me and recommend me. I am a business that runs on the fuel of quality rather than quantity.

I’m now entering my 5th year of running my business. As a Mexican woman-owned business, I’m proud to say that all the hard work I’ve put into it, from education to reputation, it is all coming together. It has delivered various clients such as lawyers, med spas, political candidates, business coaches, and more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would be very alarmed if it were a smooth road. But it really has been a roller coaster ride! Always a great time, but of course has its ups and downs all around! Some of the struggles I’ve met along the way were not being taken seriously, not being paid fairly or at all, or not knowing where or how I would get my clients.

But with these struggles and lessons, I learned and came out stronger. Despite all the struggles I’ve faced on my entrepreneurial rollercoaster ride, I have always found the silver lining and used it to fuel my passion and success.

I have found that the most critical qualities for success in this industry are flexibility, transparency, and communication. Flexibility is especially important when working in digital marketing because of its dynamic nature; what works one day might not work the next. Transparency builds trust. Communication is what promotes growth and understanding of what the client and what we all need to succeed.
