Robert, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After finishing my early days as a motocross racer, I did what I thought I was “supposed to” — I went to college, earned degrees other people think are fancy, and got a good job. I worked as a Corporate Finance Manager, earned my MBA with double majors in Accounting and Finance, as well as my BSBA in Finance and Economics and the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation. Then, my life changed.
By the age of 25, I was a single dad with a one-and-a-half-year-old son trying to figure out this new world. Up until this point, I had pretty much always been in control, but then, I had no idea what I was doing or how I was going to figure any of it out.
At age 26, I’ve retired from the corporate world, host a top 1% business and investing podcast called Millennial Investing & Real Estate 101 that has received over 2,7+ million downloads in just 18 months, am an active real estate investor, stock investor, and as of recently, a motocross racer again.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It absolutely hasn’t been a smooth road. Professionally, the biggest struggle came when I was given the ultimatum from my boss at the time to choose between my career and side hustles.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
My biggest lessons learned from COVID-19 are to make sure your business has the ability to pivot quickly, if and when needed, and to diversify your income streams, whether personally or in a business, as much as possible.
