Exploring Life & Business with Pavlo Prykhodko of JPK Family Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pavlo Prykhodko.

Hi Pavlo, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am from Ukraine. Born on July 6, 1988 in the city of Mykolaev. I have always shown great interest in sports. At the age of 13, my parents sent me to a sports boarding school for rowing. For 14 years, I have been professionally engaged in rowing in Ukraine. Thanks to sports, I got an education, made many friends and started my own family. I graduated from the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine and received a Master’s degree with honors and awards for participating in various national competitions in the field of physical education. I have been a member of the National Rowing Team of Ukraine for many years, a multiple champions and prize-winner of national rowing competitions of Ukraine at different ages, a finalist of the World Junior and Youth Championships, a participant in the World and European Championships. In 2012, I was included in the Ukrainian Olympic rowing team. Since 2013, I started my career as a fitness trainer in the most popular fitness club in Ukraine “5 Element”, while simultaneously successfully combining performance in rowing.

In parallel rowing and job as a personal trainer, I took part many times and every time was in the final at the open CrossFitt Ukrainian Championships, I had 3rd place at one of the championships. In 2015, I moved to the USA with my wife and was approved for a green card as an extraordinary person. In 2017 took 3rd place, 2018-2nd place in the USRowing Club National Championships, 2019-2nd place in the USRowing National Championships, in 2018 took 1st place (Open Men 2000m Relay) and 2nd place (Open Men 500m Sprint) in the first World Rowing Indoor Championships, 2019-1st and 2nd place in the USRowing Indoor National Championships and 7th place in the World Rowing Indoor Championships (category 27-35 years old), 2020-2nd place in the C.R.A.S.H.-B. Sprints World Indoor Rowing Championships/USRowing Indoor National Championships (category 27-35 years old). I am currently preparing for the USRowing Masters National Championships which will be held August 11-14, 2022 in Sarasota, FL. I am grateful to my family, coaches, teachers, friends, crew members and competitors for all the knowledge gained.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The most difficult period was when I was a student. During this period, I still did not earn money as an athlete and I did not always have enough money to buy food for myself and very often I came to training hungry. I want to note that I came to training because I did not have money to get by public transport. I remember well the time when I had a choice to quit rowing or go to work. I chose rowing and now I don’t regret my choice. Thanks to this choice, I got an education, made many friends, started my family and was able to get to the USA and I know that this is not all and it will be better in the future.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a fitness trainer. I train people at home. My knowledge and experience will inspire me to train people in different areas of fitness. I really like doing functional training because this type of training includes the development of all physical qualities, erasing any restrictions.

What matters most to you?
Faith, hope, people. Believing is what makes you go forward, strive for a dream, regardless of life’s difficulties and circumstances. Hope is a symbol of the fact that tomorrow will be better than it was yesterday, that it will still be, that life will be filled with meaning and happiness. Love is something you can’t do without. After all, whatever a person does, he must do it with love, and then he will bring good to the world with his life, give happiness to those around him, taking care of them. Love is the most important thing in the world, it is the beginning of everything and everything.
