Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalia Yepes.
Hi Natalia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been a flight attendant for a decade now, and over the years I began to travel the world and started organizing trips for myself and my friends to different parts of the world. In 2020, 8,000 flight attendants got laid off at my airline. I realized so many people were itching to get back out and travel and thought my love for creating customized itineraries would come in handy for those who had to put their travel dreams on hold.
Almost 2 years later, I have been able to help many people plan their honeymoons, solo trips, birthday trips, graduation trips, and now even destination weddings to different parts of the world. As the world reopens I am starting to do more exotic locations and people are eager to get to remote areas they otherwise wouldn’t have considered because they knew nothing about the logistics of getting there. Adventuresque Travel Boutique has helped them bridge that gap between the unknown and make their travel dreams a reality.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road! It all starts with believing in your product and knowing how it can help others. At first, my struggle was with myself, getting over that dreaded imposter syndrome and believing that my services were of help to others.
Once I built my first few trips and I saw my client’s pictures and heard their feedback on how much they enjoyed their vacation because they didn’t have to worry about anything knowing they were taken care of was when I knew how to better market my business and my ideal clients.
Later on, my struggles were with finding the best providers of services in other countries and weeding out those that wouldn’t provide the level of service I am looking for all of my clients. I now focus on working directly with local providers to better help the local economies of whatever destination I am researching.
It’s also been a struggle to get the capital to work on new projects and ideas. I have many great ideas for new travel products but it hasn’t been the easiest to get loans to be able to make prototypes for these products.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Adventuresque Travel Boutique came from my love of blending adventure with my love of all things picturesque and elegant. I wanted my clients to be able to enjoy unique trips that they won’t just find on Expedia or by googling their destinations.
I specialize in curating customized trips so that my clients know their trips won’t be replicated easily. Over my years of traveling, I have found little secrets by talking to locals, and small restaurants that are off-the-beaten-path. I also like to suggest destinations to my clients that aren’t the first choice for large groups of tourists.
What sets Adventuresque apart from others is the level of service I want to provide. I KNOW how frustrating it is to want to speak to a human but get the run-around from big companies that use automated services and not be able to solve anything. I want my clients to know that I will try my best to always get them what they want, and provide solutions, not hold times.
I am very proud of the fact that I thought of my logo, my vision, and my website and was able to create it myself. I wanted to convey a message of elegance and luxury for Adventuresque Travel Boutique, and have found that people understand that when they visit my site and see the marketing materials I have created from my business cards to my apparel.
I want readers to know that luxury is in the experience, you can have a 5-star vacation without the 5-star price tag. I will continue to find these lesser-known treasures abroad for my clients at the best price possible.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I always suggest going to local events for activities you enjoy doing! It doesn’t necessarily have to be a networking event. Those have always been the least effective venues for me to find real mentors. For example, if you go to a local cooking class because you want to learn how to better cook, you might come across someone who lives in your neighborhood that has similar goals and tastes as you!
They may not even be in the same industry as you, but you can learn so much about these individuals because they are dedicated to bettering themselves in other areas of their life. You now have a friend and mentor that can give you advice because they’re neutral and would love to see you succeed as well.
I have found amazing mentors and inspiration by going to workout classes, or financial improvement workshops. I’m always looking for fun events where I’m not there to sell my idea, but love to talk about my passions.
