Hi Maryam, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Seaspice was created in a once forgotten neighborhood along the Miami River, housed in a former industrial warehouse with stunning views of the river and the downtown skyline. Our vision was to bring a level of sophistication and a vibrant joie de vivre to the area, transforming it into a destination for elevated dining and nightlife. With Mediterranean-inspired classics, enhanced by modern techniques, we crafted an unparalleled dining experience. Over the years, Seaspice has drawn royalty, heads of state, celebrities, and artists, solidifying its role as a key player in Miami’s culinary and social evolution. We’ve not only helped transform the Miami River into an entertainment hub of sophistication, a place where yachts dock daily, champagne flows, and unforgettable moments unfold.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Before Seaspice even began construction, we faced significant challenges in building an upscale venue in an area that was in dire need of revitalization. Transforming the Miami River and converting an industrial warehouse into a premier dining destination required vision and perseverance. At the same time, we were tasked with building a brand in a city that was still evolving its culinary identity. The ongoing challenge of maintaining the highest standards of service and quality in such a competitive industry, particularly as we continue to grow and expand, remains a constant focus. However, these struggles have driven us to continuously innovate and improve, ultimately establishing Seaspice as a leader in Miami’s dining and nightlife scene.

As you know, we’re big fans of Seaspice . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Seaspice, we’re known for our unwavering commitment to excellence in every aspect—from our Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, crafted with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, to the upscale, sophisticated ambiance we’ve created along the Miami River. What sets us apart is our dedication to delivering an exceptional experience, whether through our waterfront location, our meticulously curated menu, or our impeccable service. We’re especially proud of establishing Seaspice as an internationally recognized brand, embraced by guests from all over the world. Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce the opening of our exclusive private club this season, offering members a truly elevated experience. Additionally, as we approach 2025, we have plans to expand the Seaspice brand to new locations, bringing our signature style and luxury to even more destinations.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Risk-taking has been an integral part of Seaspice’s journey from the very beginning. One of the major risks we took was choosing to open Seaspice in a location that, at the time, was not on anyone’s radar—a neighborhood along the Miami River that few frequented, especially at night and it took a bold vision to see the potential for transforming an industrial warehouse into a premier dining and nightlife destination. We believed in the power of the location, the views, and what we could create there, even when it wasn’t an obvious choice to others. That risk paid off, as we not only revitalized the area but helped turn it into one of Miami’s most sought-after waterfront destinations. Taking calculated risks is essential in creating something truly unique, and for us, it’s been key to Seaspice’s success.
