Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariia Grachova.
Hi Mariia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my career as a software developer in Ukraine, delivering web apps and discovering how code can solve real business problems. But writing code also exposed me to an equally fascinating puzzle: how people find and promote digital products and services.
Side projects and late-night coding sessions nudged me onto social media, where I began creating content for my friends and their businesses. Posts took off, and within two years, my data-driven mindset landed me the role of Head of Marketing at a 150-person IT company, where I fused storytelling with analytics to scale lead generation and brand reach.
Startup
After finishing my corporate career, I took the playbook on the road—keynoting conferences, advising teams as a consultant and fractional CMO, and ultimately channeling those insights into my own venture: Loopo, a B2B SaaS martech startup built to turn scattered marketing data into clear growth signals.
Turning point: Loona
In 2024, I co-founded Loona, a full-cycle marketing agency helping US home-improvement brands win search, content, and paid channels. My role evolved from hands-on optimizer to CEO, focused on vision, sales, and a culture where dev-style iteration meets creative storytelling.
Signature results
– 300% organic-traffic lift for a construction firm in four months, zero extra ad spend
– 7-figure ARR jump for a SaaS startup via an SEO + content + LinkedIn Ads playbook
– Top-10 SERP wins for competitive roofing, HVAC, and plumbing keywords across U.S. metros
TL;DR: Code-loving developer → viral content creator → Head of Marketing at a 150-person IT firm → lecturer & fractional CMO → founder of the SaaS startup Loopo → now CEO/co-founder of Loona, driving data-backed SEO and content growth for U.S. home-service brands.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road – more like a lot of trial and error.
When I transitioned into marketing, I had to completely shift my focus. It was a significant change to start thinking about messaging, data, metrics, and clients instead of writing code. It was exciting but also overwhelming. I had to learn everything myself, from content and SEO to ads.
Starting my own business came with new challenges: learning how to sell your services, creating a team from scratch, and making smart choices without a safety net. With Loona Agency, it took time to figure out what we do best, find our first clients, and build systems that actually work in the long term.
In fact, there were lots of failed tests, exhausting weekends, and moments of doubt. But every marketing moment taught me something. In the end, those lessons were as important as the wins.
As you know, we’re big fans of Loona Agency. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

So, what makes us different? It’s about combining creative ideas with clear communication and achieving remarkable business results. In particular, we solve real business pain points, such as increasing website traffic, building a strong brand, or scaling ads.
Importantly, we’re flexible – from roofing firms to creative agencies, we know how to customize our approach to your niche and deliver results. When someone is looking for an expert team that’s focused on growth, we’d love to help.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like best about our city? For me, it’s the energy. I love that I can go from a client meeting to grabbing coffee by the water or catching a sunset – all in the same afternoon. This city has the perfect mix of business, art, and lifestyle.
What I like least about our city: the traffic is the biggest downside. Rush hour can be rough, and finding parking isn’t always fun. But honestly, it’s a small price to pay for living in a place that’s this exciting.
