Exploring Life & Business with Ketia Salvador Jacques of Salvador Insurance Partners

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ketia Salvador Jacques.

Hi Ketia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey in insurance began from a place of personal experience and purpose. I started as a captive agent, but after the loss of my mother in late 2024, I realized I needed to serve people more personally and freely. In March 2025, just three months after her passing, I became an independent agent.

But my commitment to this work started even earlier. I lost my sister just one year before the pandemic. She left behind two young girls, ages 9 and 12. Thankfully, my sister had life insurance. Because of that, we were able to take care of her children without financial devastation. That moment changed me forever.

Now, when I speak to my clients about life insurance, I don’t speak as a salesperson—I speak as a sister, an aunt, and someone who knows what it means to have protection when you need it most. I educate families so they understand how life insurance can be a final act of love and a lasting legacy.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I also helped my parents manage Medicaid, Medicare, and other benefits. I remember thinking, “I’m so glad my parents have me. What about the seniors who don’t have anyone?” That question became the heart of my business.

I bring not only personal experience, but also professional training to this work. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Florida International University. I’m also a Certified Risk Coder and a Certified Wedding and Event Planner (CWEP) through Miami Dade College. These credentials reflect my attention to detail, organizational skills, and deep commitment to serving clients with integrity and excellence.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth road in the beginning. Transitioning from being a health consultant with a steady paycheck and commissions to becoming an independent agent was a big leap of faith. When you work for a company, you have stability. But when you step out on your own, your success depends on your ability to write policies and build relationships — that’s how you make a living.

For me, this journey has always been about more than just a paycheck. It’s a mission. I’m planting my seeds now, and I believe the harvest will come. With the support of my husband, I’ve been able to focus on building something lasting — a business where my children can see the value of taking risks and pursuing purpose.

My goal is to create an agency that serves my community in all areas of insurance — a place where people can find guidance, trust, and care.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Salvador Insurance Partners is more than just an insurance agency — it’s a place built on compassion, education, and service. We specialize in helping seniors and immigrant families navigate the complex world of Medicare, Medicaid, and life insurance. My goal is to make insurance simple, understandable, and accessible for everyone, especially those who often feel overlooked or confused by the system.

What truly sets us apart is our personal approach. I take time to sit with each client, listen to their story, and help them find coverage that truly fits their needs — not just a plan that benefits the company. Many of my clients come from communities where English isn’t their first language, so I make sure they feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Salvador Insurance Partners is becoming a trusted name in the community. People know they can call us not just for insurance, but for guidance, kindness, and care. My vision is to continue expanding so we can serve more families — offering every type of insurance under one roof while keeping that same personal touch.

At its heart, Salvador Insurance Partners is about building trust, empowering people with knowledge, and leaving a legacy of service for the next generation.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice for anyone who wants to start their own business is to take time to learn the foundation — not just of sales, but of being a true advisor and community partner. Learn as much as you can and stay engaged.

Relationships are everything. Build genuine relationships with your community and your clients. Have empathy, listen to people’s stories, and always lead with integrity. When you see your community as your family, you’ll naturally serve with your heart first — and success will follow.

Looking back, I wish I knew how important it was to stay patient and trust the process. Every connection, every challenge, and every small win adds up to something greater. Keep learning, keep growing, and remember why you started.
