Exploring Life & Business with Kelsey Rose of Shaep

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelsey Rose.

Hi Kelsey, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After graduating with a bachelor of education I transitioned from classroom teaching to teaching individuals how to live a healthy active lifestyle.

It all started with 1 client and the launch of my Instagram about 7 years ago and from there it evolved. When the pandemic happened I moved my business fully online and created an app of on-demand workouts that I solely focus on now!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not! Just like with life, there are always ups and downs with business. Prior to the pandemic, every service I offered was in person. Form wellness retreats to group fitness, private training, etc. I thrived off of working with clients face to face.

I never had the urge to move things online but that also meant I was stuck in one place. When March 2020 came along I was forced to pivot and go online which in the end turned out to be the biggest blessing because I can now work remotely and have built an incredible global community.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Shaep?
Shaep is an on-demand wellness platform to take control of your body, mind, and soul. Our approach to wellness is well-rounded and our founding principles stand on 3 pillars – shift, meditate and nourish. Through years of experience not only with this community but also on a personal level, I understand first-hand that a holistic approach to health and wellness is needed in order to thrive.

Shaep is all about moving your body and there are currently over 250 follow-along series for all fitness levels ranging from strength workouts to yoga and Pilates and my personal favorite: mobility work. Every week I create a new weekly schedule that combines a balanced week of exercise and we also host monthly challenges to keep members motivated and inspired to keep showing up to their mats.

Next, nourishment refers to the way in which we fuel our bodies. There are over 100 Registered holistic nutritionist-approved recipes that are simple and easy to follow. We also have meal plans from monthly challenges to choose from daily.

Lastly, meditation focuses on the mindfulness aspect which plays a major role in our daily energy, mood, and well-being. I’ve brought in experts to guide us through meditations, tapping, and breath work series which are also planned out in our weekly schedule.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Getting uncomfortable. Showing up for events, and gatherings and putting yourself in a space to meet with others and connect.

I moved to Miami from Toronto and I’ve been forcing myself to get out there and meet new people because you never know of opportunities that can come from it!
