Exploring Life & Business with Joelle Drese of Joelle Training LLc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joelle Drese.

Hi Joelle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
about 10 years ago I needed a change in my life and left my country Belgium to travel, along the way I met my husband and followed him to Florida. Earlier that same year I was diagnosed with Chorn’s diseases, and I knew I needed a big change in my life.
Slowly I started working out, learning more about nutrition and dig deeper into the health and wellness industry, at first it was just for me but then quickly I realized I could help other people to take care of themselves and having a better health.

As I moved to the US, I wanted to get my certification to be able to help people here too. I signed up with NASM to become a personal trainer as well as a nutrition coach with Standford academy.

A few months after I started offering my personal training services first to friends and then slowly mouth to mouth recommendation, I got enough client to officially open my company Joelle Training LLC. I’ve been training client in Florida for a little more than 8 years now and I love my job,

I love helping people getting healthier and stronger.

Recently I got the opportunity to become a yoga and Mat Pilates instructor, and it has opened the door for me to teach in studios and different condos.

A few months ago, a friend of mine Argelia Viveros offered me to teach in an event for Latina’s women, as I was born in Colombia and raised by a Colombian mom, I was really happy to reconnect with my roots.

We have plans to create more space for women to meet and workout together.

I also started organizing wellness retreat around the word, I have done 2 in Spain and I have 1 coming up in 2026 in Colombia and Belgium.

My goal is to help as many people as I can to learn to take care of themselves from inside and out

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
it hasn’t always been easy, I moved to Florida and I didn’t speak a word in English , when I first start training clients and studying in English it was a challenge for sure, I am grateful that people where always really nice and understanding with my accent.
Also creating a business when you don’t know anyone is extremely hard , what really help me were my clients recommendations , that is how I got to grow my business, but then Covid happened and a lot of clients were canceling.

I decided quickly that I needed to transition online and it actually help me open my business to clients that don’t live in Florida, I even had the chance to reconnect with some of my old clients from Belgium and train them .

I would say one of the hard thing about being a business owner is that you always have to transition and adapt

I am always grateful for the life I have I would have never imagined 15 years ago to be where I am right now.
