Exploring Life & Business with Jessica Masi of Masi Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Masi.

Hi Jessica, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey with Masi Events started from a genuine love of storytelling through celebration. When I launched the business over a decade ago, it was about building trust, one couple and one event at a time. Those early years were filled with learning, long hours, and earning a reputation for care, creativity, and reliability in an industry that’s all about emotion and detail.

With a background in hospitality and design, I always believed a wedding should be more than just a collection of beautiful moments. It should feel like an authentic reflection of two people, their personalities, their story, and the feeling they want to share with their guests. That idea has guided everything I’ve done since day one.

Over the years, Masi Events has evolved and matured. What began as a small local business has grown into a boutique firm known for its design-driven planning approach and for creating experiences that feel effortless, cohesive, and deeply personal. My eye for design has grown with that evolution too. Our aesthetic today is more refined, timeless, and layered with meaning.

Now my husband and I run the company together with the support of a small, trusted team. This allows us to stay closely connected to each couple and every creative partner we work with. I still love being hands-on with every project and bringing a sense of calm and clarity to the process.

Looking back, I’m proud of how far Masi Events has come, not just in the recognition or scale of our work but in how true we’ve stayed to our purpose. For us, it has always been about connection, authenticity, and creating celebrations that feel deeply personal and beautifully intentional.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like most small business journeys, it definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. In the early days, I was doing everything myself — from designing events to managing logistics to handling the behind-the-scenes details that no one ever sees. It was a constant balance between wanting to grow and wanting to maintain the level of care and detail that defines what we do.

There were moments of doubt, especially in the beginning, when I had to trust that all the long hours and sacrifices would eventually build something lasting. Over time, I learned how to navigate those challenges by refining our processes, setting boundaries, and leaning into the kind of work that truly fulfills me creatively and personally.

The pandemic was also a defining moment for us. It forced a pause that made us reevaluate how we wanted Masi Events to operate and what kind of experience we wanted to give our clients. That period really shaped the intentional, design-led direction we’ve taken since.

Every challenge has taught us something valuable. It’s helped us grow not just as business owners, but as creatives. We’ve learned that success doesn’t come from trying to do everything, but from staying focused on what aligns with our values and trusting your vision through every season of growth.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Masi Events is a boutique wedding and event planning firm based in Miami, known for designing celebrations that feel effortless, artful, and deeply personal. We plan and design weddings throughout South Florida and destination locations across the U.S., the Caribbean, and Europe.

Our approach is rooted in storytelling and design. Each event begins with truly getting to know our clients- their personalities, their style, and the emotion they want to share with their guests. From there, we curate experiences that feel cohesive and timeless, layered with thoughtful details that reflect their story.

We specialize in full service planning and design, guiding our clients through every stage of the process. What defines our work is the balance between structure and creativity. We seamlessly manage logistics while crafting a vision that feels organic and refined.

I am most proud of how Masi Events has evolved while staying true to its heart. Our brand is built on authenticity, artistry, and connection. Every celebration is designed to feel intentional and emotionally resonant, leaving our clients and their guests with something beautiful to remember long after the day has passed.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is building something meaningful, a career and a life we can be proud of. Masi Events has always been about creating experiences that connect people, whether it’s a wedding, a corporate gathering, or a celebration of any kind. But more than the events themselves, it’s about the purpose behind the work and the integrity with which we do it.

I want the business to reflect who we are — thoughtful, creative, and intentional in everything we take on. Success for me isn’t measured by recognition or scale, but by the lasting impact we create and the joy we bring to others through our work.

Most importantly, I want our children to see what’s possible when you follow your passion with commitment and heart. I hope they see that they can build something of their own, that they can lead with purpose, and that fulfillment comes from doing what you love and doing it well.
