Hi Jenna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the world of cologne/perfume began with a deep fascination of scents and their power to evoke emotions and memories. I’ve always been curious about the different fragrances people wore and how they made them feel. This curiosity turned into a passion. I brought the idea of Sex Water Cologne to my dad (who is a business owner himself) and we decided to dive into the fragrance world together.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m not sure any business owner would say it’s been a smooth road. I have a newfound respect for business owners of any kind. I always knew running a business was hard work, but now that I’m doing it, I see all the stuff that goes on behind the scenes that I never realized took place. I’m a very routine person. I go to bed every night with a to-do list of things I need to get done the next day. So, the biggest struggle for me has been waking up every day to a new problem/issue that popped up over night and needs to be fixed. It’s usually something I’ve never done before (since this is my first time owning and running a business) so I have to teach myself, which could take a few hours, and then it sets my to-do list back the whole day.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that with a little bit off effort, time, and patience, you can teach yourself anything. And when you learn how to do the thing you didn’t feel comfortable doing, it’s a great feeling and builds confidence. I’m the youngest child and I’ve always been quick to run to one of my parents or brother/sister for help when I didn’t know how to do something. They would help me or do it for me and in return, I never actually learned how to do it myself. But since starting this business, there are a lot of things they can’t help me with, or they don’t have the time to help, and I’m forced to teach and learn it myself. Every day I surprise myself with the things I’m able to do if I put in the time to learn them. It’s the best feeling and I have built so much confidence along the way.
