Hi Jasmine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I always remembered being interested in the world of cosmetology. Even in high school, I would offer to do girls’ makeup for prom and other formal events, I was always learning and branching out to new beauty styles and skills, then one day I came upon lash extensions. I instantly fell in love with the artistry and how a simple set of lashes can enhance someone’s beauty. After graduating high school, I spent every day and every penny towards my upcoming lash journey, buying every single supply I needed and practicing on friends and family is where it all began. I quickly picked up on the skill and saved up enough money to attend cosmetology school to get my beauty license. My clientele grew more and more, and I decided to turn J Studio Beauty into an official LLC and leased out my very own office suite. Now I offer many other services such as Lash Lifts & Tints, Brow Tint & Lip Waxing, and of course various styles of Lash Extensions. I am so grateful and amazed to see how a small hobby turned into a fast-growing business, J Studio Beauty will only grow from here.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely was not the smoothest journey, when I began lashing I was also attending Miami Dade College and supporting my family. Because of the many responsibilities I had to endure, I did not do so well within my courses and had to put my education at a halt. I was working part-time to help support bills, pay for classes, and my lash expenses which wasn’t the easiest but I did not let those obstacles slow me down from building a successful business. I overworked myself and didn’t spend my time like any usual 19 year old but I’m so pleased with the outcome. All my hard work and dedication really paid off at the end.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
J Studio Beauty is a lash and brow bar growing into bigger projects in the near future. I offer beauty services such as lash extensions, lash lift & tints, brow tint & lip waxing, but I mostly specialize in my lash services. At J Studio Beauty, not only do I focus on creating beautiful lash sets and brows but I believe that the customer experience is just as important. My clients always feel at ease and comfortable coming into my office studio. It is a safe space for them and they have always experienced top-quality customer service. My brand and business truly represents me and who I am, I have built myself and this business from the bottom, I’m so proud to see how far I’ve come and to see my clientele grow massively, we are really one big family. Majority of my clients have been with me throughout the whole growing process and I cant wait to see how much more it will grow.
What are your plans for the future?
My goal for J Studio Beauty is to have an official storefront and to become a full-service salon. Right now, I am the only employer at J Studio Beauty, but soon I will branch into owning a complete salon with more services and employers.
