Hi Granger, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Heartfelt Fashion, INC. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission of using fashion to increase confidence in at-risk youth and people with disabilities. It all began back in 2014 when we launched the Heartfelt Fashion Summer Camp, and it blasted off from there. For 10 years, we’ve been providing opportunities for youth and the community in fashion, as well as teaching youth development. Additionally, producing top-tier fashion productions that inspire the community. Heartfelt Fashion has expanded to Miami, Florida. In July, this will be our 2nd year of producing fashion shows and events in this geographic expansion. The Heartfelt Fashion Weekend in Miami will take place from July 24-26th.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been ups and downs, but through it all we’ve persevered because of our purpose, mission and passion.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Heartfelt Fashion produces classy and cutting edge fashion shows and events that also raise funding for our mission of using fashion to increase confidence in at-risk youth and people with disabilities. Each year, we provide our Heartfelt Fashion Summer Camp 6 week program to local elementary schools. This includes lessons from acting & modeling, fashion & design, to poetry & financial literacy. The program is an all-encompassing youth development course to provide invaluable skills and experiences.
Heartfelt Fashion produces the annual Summer Showcase in Miami that features top models and designers from swimwear to couture.
At the end of the year, we hold the Heartfelt Fashion Christmas Gala to raise funding for our community initiatives including Thanksgiving food Drive and Holiday Toy Drive!
