Exploring Life & Business with Dmitri Jean of CodeBeforeCash

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dmitri Jean.

Hi Dmitri , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started Code Before Cash from a mindset more than anything. Growing up, I always paid attention to how people moved, how they carried themselves, and how discipline and loyalty separated people long term. The name ‘Code Before Cash’ represents putting principles, vision, and work ethic before money. To me, money comes after you stay solid to your code.

I’m from Miami, and I’ve been building the brand while balancing work, real life responsibilities, and trying to create something bigger for myself and the people around me. What started as ideas and sketches slowly turned into real samples, real designs, and a real vision for the future. I wanted the brand to feel authentic — not just another clothing line, but something people could connect to when they wear it.

A big part of the brand identity is the eye logo. It represents awareness, vision, focus, and paying attention to the bigger picture. A lot of the inspiration behind the brand comes from ambition, growth, loyalty, and wanting to inspire people to build something for themselves no matter where they start.

Right now I’m focused on building strong foundations, creating quality pieces, and growing a community around the brand organically. This is still the beginning for me, but I truly believe Code Before Cash can grow into something major over time

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Building a brand while working and handling everyday responsibilities comes with pressure, sacrifices, and a lot of learning experiences. There were times where I questioned things financially and creatively, but I stayed consistent because I believe in the vision behind Code Before Cash. A lot of the journey has been about discipline, patience, and learning how to turn setbacks into motivation

We’ve been impressed with CodeBeforeCash, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Code Before Cash is a streetwear brand built around mindset, ambition, and individuality. More than just clothing, the brand represents staying loyal to your principles, vision, and goals before chasing money or validation. Everything about the brand is rooted in discipline, growth, and building something meaningful from the ground up.

We specialize in premium streetwear pieces including oversized hoodies and tees with a strong focus on quality, fit, and presentation. One thing that sets us apart is that every design has meaning behind it. The eye logo, for example, represents awareness, vision, focus, and paying attention to the bigger picture in life. A lot of the inspiration comes from real experiences, personal growth, and the culture around me growing up in Miami.

What I’m most proud of brand-wise is seeing ideas that started in my head become real products and watching people genuinely connect with the message behind the brand. I’ve put a lot of time into making sure the quality, branding, and visuals feel authentic and intentional rather than rushed.

I want readers to know that Code Before Cash is still growing, but the vision is big. I’m focused on building a brand and community that people can wear with confidence and relate to on a deeper level. The goal is to create timeless pieces while inspiring others to stay focused on their own path, trust the process, and keep building no matter where they start

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I enjoy storytelling books and content that give insight into people’s journeys, mindset, and growth. I also spend a lot of time watching and learning from other brand owners, creatives, and entrepreneurs to understand how they build their brands, market themselves, and stay consistent over time.

A lot of inspiration comes from studying branding, fashion culture, and seeing how successful brands create strong identities and communities around their vision. I also use social media platforms and apps to stay connected to trends, creative ideas, and different forms of motivation.

More than anything, I’m inspired by real stories — especially people who started from nothing and built something meaningful through discipline, patience, and consistency
