Hi Cole, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Our founders were born and raised in Florida. We have a desire to do our part to raise the standard in the private security industry. It is our belief that recruiting the best possible talent and treating them well leads to a good experience for our clients.
So far so good and we have seen rapid growth. Florida is facing ever-evolving challenges caused by an explosion in population, rising homelessness, and drug dependency. Our love for the area inspires us to work to help meet these challenges.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The security industry is very tough. It’s a low-margin business especially if you hire qualified officers and pay them what they deserve. The industry is dominated by a few giant corporations which are headquartered in Europe or Canada.
They tend to low-bid contracts and operate on sheer volume and employees are treated like numbers. It is common for businesses looking for security guard services to think that all security is the same and so they go with the cheapest option. Fortunately, we have found enough clients who understand value.
As you know, we’re big fans of Rising Force Security. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We provide security guard services in South and Central Florida. While there are many niches in the security industry, we focus on long-term projects with residential communities and commercial properties. We try to instill in our officers an appreciation of honest work for honest wages.
This includes having respect for oneself by taking pride in your appearance and the quality of your work. It’s the Rising Force way. We believe that we are paid to solve problems and every situation has a different solution.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
As children growing up in South Florida we loved visiting local state parks, beaches, and amusement parks. Years later, it is rewarding to be able to help protect some of these sites.
