Exploring Life & Business with Ciera Jordan of Miracle Looks Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ciera Jordan.

Hi Ciera, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My fashion journey started young. I grew up with my Grandmother and Aunts. Our household was about cleaning, working and dressing nice. My Aunts always had office jobs so they would dress up in nice skirt suits, nice dresses and pumps everyday. Plus, I grew up in the church, where the ladies liked to slay every Sunday. Big hats and dresses. That’s where it started and that’s where my love for fashion begin. I admired Women in dressy clothes and high heels. I’m actually the same way today, ima high heels and pump girl on any day. My brand represents that as well. Lol. I knew I was different. Fast forward, I started my business January 2018 doing online sales only. I was so excited and happy of my accomplishment I achieved.

So now my fashion journey really starts and everything I did revolved around fashion. I would go to stores and purchase fashion magazines so I could see the trends and that also widen my fashion sense. I would stay up until 4am reading about fashion and coming up with ideas for my business. As I started to learn more about the business, I faced some challenges. My first website design was a mess. I reached out to a graphic web designer who also designed celebrities websites so I assumed mines would be perfect. Unfortunately, I came to realize with some people, if you’re not famous they don’t produce the same services because of your name. So I spent hundreds of dollars, wasted. I decided to play around with the site and I got it. I actually did my own website numerous of times and still til this day. In 2019, I stopped my business because I was unsure of myself. So I got a career for one year and I loved it at first. Until people started to ask me, “hey you still sell clothes?” Or “why did you stop? I loved your clothes” those little conversations made me realize don’t give up on your dream. So I went back at it, full force. I left my career in 2020 and opened my business back up. I did online for a few months and after the pandemic, I was able to open a suite for my business. I built up enough clientele to open a small suite, so I did in May 2021.

Before I opened, my suite was vandalized and my merchandise was too. I was hurt because I had to replace things that I paid to get done before the opening. The owner of the building did a bad deal and the previous owners was upset so they destroyed my suite. I cried but I got up and made a decision that I would stay until my contract was up because I had already spent money. So I stayed and prayed, lol. Business begin to pick up for me but those challenges still was rising. But the difference this time is that I didn’t give up. I’m glad I didn’t get up. As a business owner, I’ve learned how to change my mindset and my life. In order to be great, I had to be great within myself. So goodness could pour over in my business. It’s been 3years and I have so much more to learn, but it’s definitely progressing and that itself is an achievement. I’m thankful for my entrepreneur journey because it’s hasn’t just taught me about the business but also about myself. For that, I’m grateful and most importantly grateful for my customers because it’s not possible without them. Miracle Looks Boutique is on the rise and so am I. Thank you 🙏🏽

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Never a smooth role in entrepreneurship, obstacles are always going to rise. My struggle would be learning how to deal with customers. Actually learning people, learning my customers to figure out what they like. That was a struggle because I was torn between the girl next door or the woman who runs a 500 fortune club. They both dress different and honestly, I like both. So that’s how I decided for my brand represent looks for all lifestyles.

We’ve been impressed with Miracle Looks Boutique, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We provide looks for Woman who wants to slay everyday. We want every woman to feel confident and sexy in our clothes and we don’t break the bank to do it!

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I am definitely a risk taker! I left my career and rolled the dice on myself. I had no loans to start my business. I sacrificed everything and I was scared. If it wasn’t for my ambition and my husband, I probably wouldn’t be this far. I manifested and prayed over my business hard. That’s what kept me pushing as well. But a risk, definitely a big one!
