Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantel Price.
Hi Chantel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Since I was a kid, I always been a hustler. From selling homemade Christmas wreaths at age 10 door to door. To charging people while I was in high school to do their homework and projects. At the age of 19, I was asked by my business professor “what do you see yourself doing for the rest of your life, that doesn’t feel like work“. I instantly said dance. I been dancing since I was 7 and knew that was my passion.
I then took my $6,000 refund check from school and open up my dance school. I started with 17 kids and now we have been open for 15 years with over 100 students. Had no clue on what I was doing, I just knew that was my passion.
My major was in business, so it’s only right I stick to that field. 2 years into running the dance business I started branching off into business consulting and preparing taxes. Now my tax business has 6 prepares on staff and we prepare over 300 personal and business taxes per year.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. We are now in year 15 we didn’t make a profit until around year 5. I kept putting everything I had into these companies. From having to work 2 jobs and still run the business. Going back and forth from full-time entrepreneurship to 9 to 5 was stressful and did I add I was a mom while doing this. At one point we had no food, lights off, car got repossessed and it goes on.
I knew I needed to change what I was doing if I really wanted this to work. I knew I had to stop playing with my potential and really go hard.
We often ask God to bless us instead of doing the work first. We have to do the work first and watch how he rewards you. Once I begin to use my maximum potential God started to bless me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along the way is separating business and personal. Don’t go against your policies and procedures for family or friends. Your price is your price.
Trust your own process, your path is unique.
Everyone is not a customer. People buy what they want and beg for what the need.
If it’s not beneficial to your brand learn to say no because Yes is expensive
