Exploring Life & Business with Candace Williams of Kissing Booth Cosmetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candace Williams.

Candace Williams

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Kissing Booth Cosmetics was merely just a hobby! At the time, I was depressed and suffering from postpartum. Yet, I was always on Instagram watching celebs do their makeup. This turned into a happy place and I became good at doing my makeup which sparked my confidence.

Eventually, I had the thought to start my own makeup company. Followed by purchasing my first set of lipstick samples. Since then, I have expanded the company’s product line to over 25 products including handmade lipglosses.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic was a challenge! “I thought, ‘People aren’t even going out.’ What’s the purpose of wearing makeup?”

But by knowing that women don’t want their makeup all over their masks, I was able to find a place in the industry by being able to provide women that confidence and solution during that time.

Kissing Booth’s lipstick doesn’t move!

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Kissing Booth Cosmetics?
Kissing Booth Cosmetics isn’t just about makeup. It’s about self-love, resilience, and beauty of all kinds.

The brand caters to busy women, whose on-the-go lifestyle doesn’t stop them from admiring themselves and tapping into their inner superpower before they walk outside or into work ready to conquer the day.

With vegan ingredients and handmade products, Kissing Booth Cosmetics guarantees a long-lasting look that will keep busy women looking flawless throughout the day because this is the place where you fall in love with yourself and your lips.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
There have been many women throughout the beauty industry that has influenced my love for makeup and made great strides for African-American women in this industry.

A few would be Rhianna for changing the exclusivity in the beauty industry, Raynell “SupaCent” Steward for inspiring me to be brave by becoming an entrepreneur and the importance of being relatable to my customers, and Melissa Butler for creating a brand that shows women of color who wear bold makeup choices.
