Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian The Shooter.
Hi Brian, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My grandfather who recently passed away ran a very successful video and photo business off word of mouth. He employed his family members including my parents when they were in their 20’s. I remember seeing that as I grew up and often, I would help out when my parents would videotape an event gig going on. I always been around cameras in my younger days. As I grew into my teenage years, I got to a point where I asked myself, “What do I desire doing? Despite getting paid for it or not?” It took some time and a lot of effort to drown out the noise from the outside world and influence to get the answer from within. Photography kept coming to my mind even when I tried to deny it, so I went with it. I’m 23 now and I am very grateful I decided to go this path in life as a full-time photographer being able to travel the country. It took years of practice to perfect my craft to where it is now.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Overall it has been a smooth road but I definitely had some tuff times leading to where I’m at now. I had to learn to deal with rejection over the years because it messed with my confidence. I learned that it’s just part of the game no matter how good you are. Some people just won’t value you or what you do and that’s okay. I now look at it as a learning opportunity. I thank all my supportive friends and family members for helping me stay strong and shaping me into the man I am today. It was all worth it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I own a photography business called “Brian The Shooter Photography”. I primarily shoot portraits, headshots, streets, cars and events but I’m mostly known for my portraits and street photography. I’m most proud about how the business grew in all aspects over the last few years. Production, network and efficiency. I believe the thing that set me apart from others is my patience, understanding with my clients, flexibility and extreme creativity on the fly. I know how to capture exactly what they request and I know how to boost one’s self-esteem during the photoshoot while getting the job done quickly.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite memory growing up was standing up for myself for the first time to my bully in 5th grade.
