Exploring Life & Business with Andrei Subochev of Interior Seasons Studio LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrei Subochev.

Andrei, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Russia into a very creative family and have been passionate about painting since childhood. I was selected for an internship at The Educational Center “Sirius”, under the supervision of the Sergey Andriaka Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts. Later, my works were exhibited at the Moscow Manege as part of the Academy’s showcase — one of the most prestigious art venues in Russia.

I studied at the famous HSE ART AND DESIGN SCHOOL in Moscow, where I learned not only creative but also highly technical disciplines. At the same time, I was already working on design projects, as interior design and architecture were my true passions.

In 2021, I had the opportunity to work on a remarkable project — Magickids, a pediatric dental clinic for children with special needs. Under the direction of Sebastian Lican, a Romanian Orthodox icon painter and priest, and together with my future wife Anna Krutko, we created the visual language and architectural drawings for the space. We restored a historical 1915 building, decorated it with frescoes and gilding. The design helped children adapt easily and overcome their fear of doctors. It became a place of comfort and imagination rather than anxiety.

Later, I was awarded a full scholarship and assistantship for the Master of Fine Arts program at the University of Texas at Dallas. There, I not only studied but also taught, which allowed me to grow both as an artist and as an educator. I was fortunate to learn from incredible mentors who are true professionals in art, design, and technology.

I loved living in Dallas, but eventually moved to beautiful Boca Raton, Florida, where I founded my own company Interior Seasons Studio. I enjoy creating interiors filled with color, character, and individuality with unique wallpapers, bright tones, and antique accents.

What inspires me most are the personal stories of my clients. I try to translate their inner worlds into space. For example, in one of our current projects, a child’s bedroom, we’re designing custom wallpaper with hand-painted bunnies. It will never go into mass production. It’s something one-of-a-kind, made just for them.

For me, the most important thing is people. That’s why I love communicating, sharing, and telling stories about the history of interiors on social media. I believe that culture is rooted in knowledge of history — we stand on the shoulders of great artists. To create a meaningful world around us, we must always look back at the past with respect.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every person faces challenges in life, but I believe it’s important to view them as lessons rather than obstacles. Staying positive, enjoying each day, doing what you love, and surrounding yourself with supportive people makes all the difference.

I’ve been very fortunate to have the constant support of my parents, professors, mentors, and my wife. Their encouragement has always helped me move forward and stay focused on what truly matters.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Interior Seasons Studio LLC?
Interior Seasons Studio is an interior design company based in Boca Raton, Florida. We create elegant, meaningful spaces that reflect the personality and lifestyle of each client. Every project for us begins with a story — we listen carefully to understand how people live, what inspires them, and what kind of atmosphere feels like “home.”

Our designs often feature custom elements such as hand-painted wallpapers, art pieces created in collaboration with local and international artists, and a thoughtful balance of color, texture, and light. We combine artistic vision with architectural precision — blending beauty, comfort, and functionality.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Oh, absolutely! I love studying people’s stories — because behind every great design, there are always great personalities and philosophies. I collect biographies of remarkable figures .

I often attend lectures at the Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach — it’s an incredible place that keeps culture and curiosity alive.

Museums are my greatest source of inspiration. In my youth, I spent countless hours at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts and the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. But two of my all-time favorites are the Old Masters Gallery in Dresden and the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Both are like time machines that take you straight into the golden age of art. After moving to the U.S., I fell in love with the Art Institute of Chicago, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
