Hi Alain, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey really started with music.
As a professional cellist and music instructor, I saw firsthand how difficult it is for many parents to find quality instruments for their children. That experience motivated me to create String Power, my online violin shop at www.stringpower.net.
While my online business serves customers across the United States, locally in Miami-Dade I work closely with schools and parents, providing instrument sales, rentals, and repairs.
Through my career performing at events and award shows, I was constantly surrounded by style and creativity. At the same time, I noticed that it was surprisingly hard to find distinctive jewelry designed specifically for men. So I started designing pieces for myself. What began as a personal project eventually evolved into my second online business, alainorbizjewelry.com, where I curate and design unique jewelry inspired by pieces and cultures I encounter during my travels.
Creativity has always been the thread connecting everything I do. To promote my jewelry brand and connect more deeply with the community, I also began writing and producing music. particularly upbeat party and dance songs for the Cuban community in Miami. Since last year, I’ve released two singles under the name el_coco_miami, combining my passion for music, culture, and entertainment.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Overall, the journey has been relatively smooth. One of the biggest reasons is the strong support system around my business. I work closely with people who truly believe in what I’m doing, and that makes a big difference.
My vendors have also been incredibly supportive, helping with pricing, shipping, and adapting to challenges in the market. Even with fluctuations in tariffs and the rising prices of gold and silver, we collaborate and work as a team to find solutions.
That teamwork and shared commitment have helped keep the road forward steady and manageable.

My company, String Power is a specialized violin shop offering violins, violas, cellos, basses, and a full range of accessories and cases. My focus is on providing high-quality instruments that musicians and students can truly rely on.
What sets my company, String Power apart is the personalized service. I often meet clients in person and even bring instruments to their homes so they can try them in a comfortable environment. This allows musicians and families to take their time, compare instruments, and receive professional guidance on what best fits their needs.
