Hi Adriana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The history of ACMM Consulting dates back many years when Adriana Marques worked under one of the most prominent tax and fiscal lawyers in Miami. During this time, Adriana understood the pressing need for specialized tax and fiscal services for foreigners in the city. She not only recognized this need but also discovered that it was a field she was deeply passionate about. Why? Because it is an area that is constantly changing, with strategies that continuously evolve, making it a highly interactive and dynamic job.
Adriana observed that many investors and entrepreneurs do not fully grasp the impact that good tax planning can have, both in terms of tax savings and asset protection. Understanding this reality and feeling passionate about a topic in constant change and learning, she decided to establish ACMM Consulting in 2009.
From its beginnings as a solo practitioner, ACMM Consulting has significantly evolved. Today, it boasts a team of 18 professionals dedicated to providing tax and fiscal planning services to a diverse international clientele. The company has grown not only in size but also in the breadth and depth of the services it offers, establishing itself as a reference in the sector.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Regarding growth opportunities, one of the biggest challenges arose in 2020. For obvious reasons on a global level, we were forced to digitize the company to keep up. Along these lines, the tax laws in the United States are quite conservative, which presents a challenge for the level of service I would like to offer our clients, such as the ease of digital signatures, video conferences, and handling documentation via email.
Sometimes it is a bit challenging, as the IRS is not as digitized or modernized; in fact, communications are still mostly by phone or regular mail. This has been a challenge that we have worked hard to overcome, which also led to the complete digitization of the company. We have implemented digital platforms and protected archives so that clients can access their documentation 24/7, as well as digital signatures and other modern services that align with today’s technology.
Although these innovations sometimes clash with the IRS’s conservative approach, we have managed to implement significant changes to offer the best possible service to our clients. This has been a challenge, but also an opportunity for growth and modernization for ACMM Consulting.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
For those just starting out in entrepreneurship, my greatest and best advice is to persevere and not give up. There will be very challenging days, but there will also be very rewarding ones. Never stop pursuing that dream. Additionally, I advise seeking out a qualified individual with over 15 years of experience to provide guidance on tax solutions, business planning, and strategies to minimize tax impact and protect their assets.
