Today we’d like to introduce you to Ta-Mayka Williams
Hi Ta-Mayka, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m a foodie through and through! I grew up with friends and neighbors of many different backgrounds, so I was exposed to many different cuisines and cultures from a young age. My desire to learn about other cultures and cuisines has been insatiable, since then!
I started my pages dedicated to food and travel almost three years ago with the hopes to continue with my travels once I become a registered nurse!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road all along the way. As with most new pursuits, you just have to learn as you go along. The advice you get from others may not always work as well as hoped. In those cases you have to learn how to accept the set back and learn from it.
Also, with social media, algorithms change and there are certain requirements the platforms want their creators to meet, but sometimes that isn’t feasible.
Over time, I have learned to continue pushing forward at my pace and to trust God’s plan for it all.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Apart from my Food and Travel pages on social media, (mainly Instagram and TikTok), I am a healthcare worker. Healthcare always been a passion of mine, and I have been working in Radiology for years now. I am also a full-time nursing student. I am proud of myself for doing my best to balance all of these hats, although it very challenging at times.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people that know about my brand may not know that I love art. I don’t often get a chance to sketch or use my pastels, but my walls have always been covered with artwork I have created over the years
