Daily Inspiration: Meet Star Prynce

Today we’d like to introduce you to Star Prynce.

Hi Star, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in the heart of the ghetto, a tough life in the streets of portmore. My stepfather ran a sound system called Leedoc Sound, where every Saturday and Sunday people gathered, vibing and singing. But it wasn’t until I moved to Devon Pen, St. Mary, that I truly found my path. Growing up in St. Mary was a constant challenge, but it shaped me. There, I began creating dance moves, and eventually, I connected to music. I didn’t know my artistic power then, but St. Mary sparked something in me. People saw me as a legend in the making. I dove into music, learned the craft, and soon my passion reached Florence Hall, Enfield—places where fans became family. After a six-year pause, I returned in 2025, reinventing myself with fresh music and a new vision. This is just the beginning—my journey is far from over, so stay tuned

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
music took over. Some friends and even family, who once stood by me, sometimes acted like they loved the dream—but secretly, not all had my back. They saw my drive, but some resented it. I faced challenges in the studio—paying for hours, investing in myself—only to see some engineers and producers care more about money than the music. I kept my focus—I’m humble, observant, and I always paid my dues. I met people—some good, some fake—who taught me lessons. Even in relationships, I struggled—some wanted to control, not uplift. But through it all, I kept my eyes on the prize. Now, in 2026, I’m rising again. I’ve been guided by Mr. Wise, who teaches me to take control of my craft, no longer dependent on others. This is my time—my music, my vision—so stay with me, because the best is yet to come.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m Star Prynce, a reggae, dancehall, and soca artist—music is my life, and it’s how I earn my living. I don’t just do one sound; I explore reggae, dancehall, soca, and beyond. If you meet me in person, you’ll see I’m humble, talented, and hardworking. I move at my own pace—I take time to learn, to master my craft, and if something doesn’t sit right with me, even if others suggest it, I won’t do it unless I’m truly comfortable. This is my journey, and I do it in my own way, on my own terms.
Star Prynce, a seasoned dancehall artist with deep roots. I’m known for songs like “Never Forget,” where I sing, “We up top, we up top, anywhere we go, we spend just, we up top.” Tracks like “Never Forget” remind me of where I come from—Portmore city, the place they call the foundation. And in songs like “Breaking on the Night Shift,” I sing to the ones I keep close, putting them on my wish list. I don’t just talk; I live it—I sing about people being jealous in the ghetto, but we survive. I sing, “Me and my friend them, we boss it, we got kush,” because I’ve been through it all. I’m not just a fast-rising artist; I’ve been in this game for a long time, building, and now, I’m here to take over. Stay tuned—this is just the start.

I’m Star Prynce, and what I’m most proud of is my consistency over the years. I’ve watched others run after the hype, but for me, it’s about taking time, learning, and staying true. I’m not chasing a moment; I’m creating music that lasts. What sets me apart is that my songs don’t burn out—they stay with you. Years later, when you hear them, it feels like yesterday. And this image I’m coming with—as a Jamaican artist, with nails in my hair, nails on my suit—yeah, people will talk, but I don’t care. I’m just being me, making timeless music that matters. One Star Prynce, one dream, one vision—no limits. And as I say, “Tap off fire ramping,” because I’m targeting the world—watch out!

How do you think about happiness?
If I’m not doing music, even at work, it’s still on my mind. When I wake, I thank God first, and music is always in my brain—day, night, always. I train my mind, because if you stop, you lose that touch, and I can’t afford to lose it. Being alive—big up God—and doing what I love, knowing one day, He’ll elevate me to provide for my family, that’s what makes me happy. And I don’t just do it for me—I do it to give back, to help others in the streets. That’s what drives me—this is my purpose, and I won’t stop. Look out world—this is just the beginning.
