Today we’d like to introduce you to Shari Beckford. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Before starting this musical journey, Shari Beckford was busy being a mom and an entrepreneur. She helped to develop the business world with her tiny business ideas. Shari became isolated during the pandemic as did the world. Not having the ability to travel as often as she once would cause her to reopen her creative side. She was really in tune with the younger version of herself; just a little girl that music could calm. The child-like Shari would always sing and jump around. Pleasant sounds had to be made to gain her attention. Shari was always determined never to start anything without finishing. With self-motivation as her number one cheerleader, she would always state motivational quotes to keep her going. Shari grew up on the island of Jamaica listening to the Dancehall and Reggae genres. However, she somehow found her way to country music.
As she recalled hearing the community sound system playing Charlie Pride, Elvis Presley, Kenny Rogers, and Dolly Parton, Shari took a love for the stories told in this genre of music. She loved the instruments that were played in this kind of music. She called it a unique way of expressing herself. Now having time to be creative as the pandemic came, she went to the studio to record for the first time. She was excited to get in the booth and hear herself in the headphones. At the beginning of her musical career, Shari was guided by a mentor named Mr. Dean Fraser. This guidance led to the creation of an amazing track under a management team led by Howard Keizs.
She has released multiple singles tracks to the world. The titles are as follows: I will not break when I die, Angel or Demon, and drink if you want to. These can be streamed on all musical platforms. Shari wishes to embark on creating more music for the world. She desires to have collaborations with other artists such as Nikkispice and 3re out of Miami. Shari wants to write for big-name country artists such as Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, and Miranda Lambert among others great artists.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s not an easy road even though many see the glitter and the glamour and think it’s a bed of roses as Buju Banton (Jamaican reggae singer) quoted in his song nothing in my life has been an easy process however I just take it with a smile and keep moving.
What do you think about happiness?
Whenever I get the opportunity to sing for someone and make them smile. Singing is my passion.
