Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaheem Ross.
Hi Shaheem, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My photography started with me moving to south Florida from New York where I met really good friends who were into videos and photos. Long story short I became obsessed with cameras and my friends never had enough time for my ideas because they were busy creating their own. Fast forward to 2020 COVID furloughed me from my job and I decided to go all in on photography learned from YouTube and just started. Since then I’ve done sooo much traveled for work, I’ve shot for People Magazine , TMZ , Daily Mail , The New York post etc. God has immensely blessed me to enjoy what I love and I’m forever grateful for the faith he gave me to follow my dreams.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No the road has been everything but smooth from losing faith in the photography business all together . Having my camera bag stolen while being at the BET Awards out of my car during the LA riots in 2025. Constantly testing my desire to see if I really want to pursue video and photo media .
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an artist in the fullest not only do I take photos I also make videos , write short films, I act , direct short films and then casually I travel and take landscape photos . I think what is my biggest thing that sets me apart from the pac in photography is that I love every aspect amd I’ve done every type of photography. I’m known for amazing portraits and photographing celebrities. I’m most proud of my article that was printed in People magazine because I wrote down that I would get an article that year and did !
