Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Isla.
Samantha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always had a passion for travel. I have always been the one to book trips for not only myself but also friends and family members, and I never put any thought into becoming a travel agent. In October of 2021, I went on a getaway with my now husband to Cancun, where we met a beautiful couple from Michigan who was celebrating their honeymoon.
I noticed the wife was crying & me being the social butterfly that I am I asked her if she was ok. She told me she was crying because covid ruined their initial honeymoon plans & they waited a whole year and a half to be on this trip she was upset that she couldn’t communicate well with the hotel because she didn’t speak Spanish and her travel agent didn’t book things correctly for them. I immediately jumped into action and helped her, made reservations for her, had some goodies delivered to their room, and even helped book their excursion.
With tears in her eyes, she thanked me and said: “my omg you’re such an angel, have you ever thought about being a travel agent? you should become one I would be your first client”. After arriving back home and some thought I said you know what. I already love planning trips for everyone, so why don’t I just make this a business, that’s when Adventures by Sam was born.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
At first, it was not such a smooth road. Getting clients was not the easiest but I trusted in God and continued to give it my all. With support from my friends, family & Instagram followers reposting my page, A couple of months in, I got my first client and the rest was history, she referred someone and that person referred another, and so on.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am the owner of Adventures by Sam. I am a travel agent/vacation planner from small weekend getaways to bucket list trips. I book Airfare, hotels, transportation, excursions, cruises, Disney, etc. What sets me apart from other travel agents is that I build a strong rapport with all my clients.
I get to know them, what they like and don’t like, and everything about them to make sure I can make their travel dreams come true. I am there helping from the very beginning to the very end. I make all my clients feel special and make sure their vacation is one to remember.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memories would be vacationing in Naples with my family every weekend. Going out on the boat and having fun with all my family.
