Daily Inspiration: Meet Presley Pritchard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Presley Pritchard.

Hi Presley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out wanting to be a firefighter paramedic at a young age. I have always been an athlete, mainly playing soccer growing up so I already had an athletic background. I became a paramedic at the age of 19, had two daughters, and went through fire academy, becoming a firefighter as well.

I began weightlifting after my second child was born which also helped me in the job of lifting and moving patients and performing strenuous tasks on the job. I started a fitness Instagram page back in 2014 as a means of personal accountability but it soon caught traction when the results started showing. Not everyone has a weight LOSS story and I feel like that’s the culture today.

It was not as common back in 2014 to start a weight GAIN journey. I have been weightlifting and enjoying different types of exercise and sports ever since. I decided fitness was also a passion of mine in life to help people so I started online coaching.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not a smooth road at all. I was fired wrongfully as a firefighter paramedic from my job in 2019 due to even having a fitness Instagram in the first place (which I had started prior to even working there).

The worst thing in my life to happen to me ended up being the biggest blessing in disguise because I am farther in life now than I would have ever been being stuck in the past. Sometimes it takes being forced into discomfort to create change. Your breakdown can actually turn into your biggest breakthrough.

It doesn’t feel like it at the time, I definitely had the worst things in life happen to me during those few years.

I struggled with losing friends, ended relationships, lost family members, being ridiculed and mocked, and gossiped about, financial issues, struggles to start my own business, and fears of being on my own and being able to provide for my family as a single mom.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a paramedic, I have been a paramedic since 2019. I currently still work. I also worked as a firefighter for years. I am ALSO a personal trainer, mostly specializing in online coaching.

I create personalized programs targeting nutrition and strength training to get my clients to their goals. I am a fitness influencer on Instagram (@presleykp.fit). What sets me apart from others is my relentlessness. My family and friends always joke that I have “lived many different lives” at such a young age.

I went to nursing school and I am a mom of two girls. One thing about me is that no matter how many times I fall down, I’ll always get back up and come back with twice the amount of force as before. I am the proudest of my grit and willingness to adapt to whatever comes my way.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe God has a plan for everything. Some might call it bad luck that many “unlucky” things have happened to me without any fault of my own. I just don’t see it as “luck.”

I think things happen for a reason; even the bad things. And I always believe that something good will be worked out of the worst things to happen to us.
